IMPORTANT UPDATE

Since October, HD8 Life has been delivering Community Anchor support across the Denby Dale and Kirkburton wards on behalf of Denby Dale Centre, as part of a wider Kirklees programme managed by Third Sector Leaders Kirklees (TSL).

This work was funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which comes to an end nationally on 31 March 2026.

After that date, there will be a short gap in support whilst the new Community Anchor programme goes out to tender, with the next set of Community Anchors hopefully in place by mid-May 2026.

As such, the next round of Community Anchor funding (2026–2029) is now open for tenders.

£540,000 is being invested across Kirklees to support trusted, locally-rooted organisations to:

– strengthen communities
– improve health and wellbeing
– reduce isolation
– help people feel more connected

The deadline for tenders is midday on Friday 17 April 2026.

For more information, please visit the TSL Kirklees website.

HD8 Life will share Community Anchor updates as and when we have them and - as always - will continue connecting and supporting our community in whatever ways we can 🖤

There was so much noise and laughter at our Friday support group today that I had to investigate. I wondered if frying-pan ping-pong will ever become an sport? Hey , what do you think?

BIG NEWS!

We’re really proud to share that HD8 Life CIC is now partnering with Denby Dale Centre to deliver the HD8 Community Anchor role - supporting local not-for-profits, charities and community groups right across the HD8 area.

It’s a new chapter for HD8 Life CIC - one focused on the community side of our work, sitting separately from our business support activity (which continues as normal!) but driven by the same values of collaboration and connection.

Through the Community Anchor, our focus is on helping third sector community-based organisations; connecting them with advice, support, partnerships and funding opportunities that help strengthen the third sector in HD8.

Together with The Denby Dale Centre, we’ll be:

🖤 Strengthening local connections
🖤 Sharing knowledge and resources
🖤 Highlighting the amazing work already happening in our communities
🖤 Identifying where a bit of extra support could make a real difference

It’s all about collaboration, community, and creating a stronger, more resilient HD8.

As ever, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
