This is me and my daughter, who is one of the guides we are raising money for. Last Saturday we took part in Cityscapes, there were 22 (I think) guides and 4 leaders who braved the 7am meet to get the train to York! We had an amazing time! The girls really enjoyed themselves!
Over the Easter holidays we are planning our next fundraisers (whilst also planning our practice camp at Silverwood, and continuing to plan for Poacher).
As some of you may know I’m a Brownie leader aswell at 1st Thurlstone Brownies and 17th Barnsley-Pen*stone- Brownies so to remove some stress I’ve planned all the program activities up to Christmas! We ve got a cinema trip, a fun day and one weekend camp planned so far, with another in the works!

Instead of fundraising today we took rainbows and brownies on a trip out to cannon hall!

An absolutely wonderful day was had today by Oxspring Rainbows, Thurlstone Brownies and 17th Pen*stone Brownies at Cannon Hall Farm! The rain didn’t dampen our spirits at all! We enjoyed watching ferret racing, sheep racing and looking at the newborn lambs amongst other things!
As we took three units we split into two dates, so our next visit is in March! I can highly recommend booking a group visit to Cannon Hall they were really helpful!

Thank you for everyone’s help so far! You ve all been amazing!
I’m not only a parent who’s fundraising I’m a Brownie and occasional Guide leader! I will have 46 sessions (69 hours) before we go to Poacher! Along with the sessions we have lots of fundraising and trips planned! We have two Rainbow and Brownie trips to Cannon Hall Farm,a division wide trip to Pen*stone Paramount, a trip to Stocksbridge Aromatherapy to make Mother’s Day gifts, a Guide trip to do cityscapes in York, a Guide trip to The Deep for a sleepover, there’s Hesley Wood fun day with the Brownies, a full weekend sleepover at Hesley Wood, a camp with Guides at Silverwood, a silent disco at the scout hut, then finally a weeks camping at Poacher Jamboree! I also do the planning and the accounts for two Brownie units. It can feel like a full time job at times BUT I love every single minute of it! Volunteering with guiding doesn’t mean you have to do everything! You don’t have to commit to every week or every trip! UPDATE
Thanks to everyone’s amazing efforts we’ve only got £1500 left to raise!
We’ve got some events in the pipeline! Valentines crafts, an Easter event, we ve even got a silent disco planned!
If you can help us raise the last £1500 then please let us know! To make it sound more manageable that’s just under £43 per participant!
Could you sponsor one of our 35? Does the business you own or work for have a charitable fund? Could you put a ‘tip’ jar out at your place of work with the proceeds going to us?

We are taking a short break over the festive period to re charge our batteries. Whilst we do that I’ve got a question for you all! What fundraising events would you like to see in the next 7 months? We’ve got something planned for around Mother’s Day but apart from that nothing set in stone. Throw your ideas at us and we will see what we can arrange!
