Holme Helpers, incorporating Holme Helpers Pantry, is a community charity (an Unincorporated Charitable Organisation) based in Holme Upon Spalding Moor, East Riding of Yorkshire. We are run by a fully voluntary committee and our services are offered by a team of volunteers. Working together to provide support and create a feeling of belonging to all residents

of Holme Upon Spalding Moor and continue the development of community spirit in the village through:
*Delivering services that promote the reduction of isolation and loneliness to enable people to feel safe and supported in the village
*Develop community events together
*The engagement of people of all ages in volunteering
*A joined-up approach by quarterly networking meetings for all groups within Holme Upon Spalding Moor

Holme Helpers has two branches of services to offer support to the community:

1. HOLME HELPERS
*Prescription Delivery service
*Shopping support
*Befriending (visiting isolated residents)
*Gardening Service

2. HOLME HELPERS PANTRY (FOOD BANK)
*Food parcel provision, frequency dependant on individual needs, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or as required
*Taking referrals from individuals directly or from third parties
*Support Pantry users with additional comforts at Christmas, Easter, school holidays

Let's talk about the ultimate VIP of the household. It’s not the fancy air fryer. It’s not the streaming subscription. Nor is it your favourite chocolate treat 🍫 It’s... toilet paper 👑

We all know that sudden spike of panic when you're caught short because someone forgot to top up the basket in the bathroom! 😱 It’s a minor daily drama for most of us, but when finances are stretched, keeping those everyday essentials stocked becomes a real worry.

When budgets get tight, the basics get tough to buy.

We are running low on loo rolls, shampoo, and deodorant this week.

We know times are tight for many right now, but if you are in a position to help, donations of the 'soft stuff' or other toiletries would make a massive difference.

🐕 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗺𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼? 🐈

Pets are a huge part of the family — but unless you happen to have a very clever or famous pet, they’re not usually contributing to the household bills.

People’s circumstances can change quickly, especially with the cost of living still putting pressure on local households. We are currently supporting 25 pets alongside our emergency food parcels for villagers.

As 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 🥰, we’re asking whether anyone is able to spare any pet food to help local families keep their pets fed.

Maybe you’ve tried a new brand and your fussy cat or dog has turned their nose up at it, or perhaps you’re able to pop an extra tin, pouch or bag of pet food into your shopping basket.

Holme Helpers is looking for new volunteers to support our food parcel service in Holme on Spalding Moor.

Our food parcels help villagers who may be going through a difficult time and need a bit of extra support.

We’re especially looking for people who can help with:

📦 Packing food parcels
🚗 Delivering food parcels around the village

Both roles are simple but important, helping us make sure food parcels reach people safely and with care.

Whether you can help regularly or occasionally, we’d love to hear from you.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 to everyone who came along yesterday and supported our Spring Tidy & Treats Day 💛

A huge thank you as well to everyone who helped bring the event together — from setting up and baking, to running stalls, helping with the litter pick, making drinks, donating prizes, and clearing away afterwards.

We’re really pleased to say we raised over ✨ £500 ✨, which will be split between The Scouts and Holme Helpers. These funds will make a real difference to the work both groups do in our community.

We’d also like to say a special thank you to The Scouts, Holme on Spalding Moor WI, Friends of Holme School, and Youth Club for their support and for being part of the day. It really was a real community effort 💛

A mysterious ship has apparently been spotted drifting towards the River Foulness…

No need to panic. Probably.

Although if pirates, treasure maps and general chaos appear in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor on Monday 4th May, don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Come along to our Spring Tidy & Treats Day for litter picking, stalls, cakes, refreshments and a treasure hunt. 🏴‍☠️
