We had a lovely summery August meeting with a talk from Sue on her fascinating career and a peek into her gorgeous garden. We also toasted the brilliance that is the WI on their 100th birthday with a glass of Nozeco and a slice of celebration cake!

Another superb meeting for our May gathering - Chandler the Guide Dog was an exceptionally well behaved guest speaker and we were enthralled by Catherine’s talk on the charity and its workings to train the dogs. 🐶

We also had a (0% of course!) toast as we have been awarded at the LBFWI Annual Meeting our 40 year award! 🥇 No surprise as we really are the loveliest of groups!

Well we have had the loveliest of mornings with our speaker from the Brigg Oxfam shop. With 25 years of the Oxfam shop in Brigg, Deborah told us all about the store and the charity and shared some of the great quality clothes they have available. She told us all about the promotions that the store offers too: a voucher for £5 off a £35 M&S spend when you donate an M&S item and the online options they have for shoppers. An egg-cellent morning with our Easter raffle - great contributions for those from our members, many thanks! - and delightful Easter cakes from our lovely new member. Just brilliant: see you all in May ❤️🐣🛍️

Well! What a super morning we have had today. Our lovely group shared a harvest lunch and we were filled to the brim with delicious soups, made by some of our committee - yum! We also had a harvest produce table and a quiz and a little bit of business - it is WI of course - finished with President Anita’s ‘Thought for the Day’…Why you need a best friend!

Fabulous September meeting today: 5TMA came to teach us all the basics of self defence marshall arts.

What an informative and interesting meeting - we heard all about the traffic light system of safety and how the key thing really is about avoidance. Try to be aware and see the potential dangers to eliminate the chance of danger for you. In a red situation we were given some key techniques: GENTS - the most important of which is E for eyes…a sharp prod in the eye to buy yourself a moment to get away! We even had a go at some of the techniques - although we managed not to prod each other in the actual eye!

Well! What a super day we have had! Now en route home from our summer day trip August meeting - a beautiful few hours at Burnby Hall Garden and Museum (the children LOVED the play park and the fish!) - there’s even a lovely sundial there dedicated to the WI - and a little wander around Langlands Garden Centre.

Well - July's meeting was another super one! We were entertained by Liz Drury who told us all about the experience in her life as a 'voice-over artist' and the varied opportunities that has brought her. It was lovely to have Liz join us!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a week since the fabulous Annual Meeting in London at the splendid Royal Albert Hall! This time last week we were singing Jerusalem alongside that fabulous organ!

Today, for our June meeting, we were thoroughly entertained by the Rasen Ukulele Band - what an absolute treat!! Thanks to the band for an excellent performance 🎵

Our June meeting has a musical theme - we are looking forward to welcoming The Rasen Ukulele Band and can’t wait to be entertained by them!
