Seven years ago, we held our very first Talking About Loss pop-up 8months after Dad died.

I never imagined that one conversation about grief would grow into such an incredible community.

Thank you to every single person who has walked alongside us and trusted us with your story. 💙

Seven years on Tuesday, we held our very first Talking About Loss pop-up.

At the time, I had no idea where that one conversation about grief would lead.

Thousands of people supported.
Communities built.
Friendships formed.
People realising they were never as alone as they thought they were.

And perhaps that is the most powerful thing of all.

That through the death of people we deeply love, complete strangers somehow became a community… and over the years, many have become like family.

Bound together through shared grief, shared understanding and shared humanity.

I am incredibly thankful to every single person who has walked alongside us over the last seven years.

And underneath all of it, there is still one very simple truth.

I miss Dad.

But I love knowing that his kindness and love still carries on, even after his death.

Through conversations.
Through support.
Through people showing up for one another.

And as we approach seven years, Talking About Loss is evolving, with some exciting new things ahead.

So keep looking out for our posts over the coming weeks and please follow our page to see what is coming next 💙

It’s coming up to seven years since Talking About Loss was born.

And I still find it hard sometimes to believe that something created from the heartbreak of my dad dying in 2018 has gone on to support so many people across Yorkshire.

Over the last seven years, we’ve built bereavement groups, community projects, safe spaces and conversations that many people once felt unable to have openly.

We’ve stood beside people in some of the darkest moments of their lives.
And in return, people have trusted us with their stories, their grief and their hearts.

But one thing I have always believed is that grief support should continue evolving.

Because people’s lives evolve.
Communities evolve.
And the gaps in support become clearer the more conversations you have.

So as we move into year seven, there are new conversations happening.
New ideas forming.
And new projects coming that I believe could make a real difference to people who are often carrying grief quietly whilst still carrying huge responsibility.

This next chapter feels important.

And whilst I’m not quite ready to share everything yet… I can say this:

Talking About Loss is still growing.
Still listening.
Still evolving.
And still committed to making sure bereaved people across Yorkshire feel less alone. 💙 💙
