POPPY APPEAL 2025 TOTAL - £19,382.87

Thank you to everyone that’s supported this years appeal and our amazing volunteers!

The money you donated is so vital to the lives of the Armed Forces community. The Royal British Legion is working hard to support the most vulnerable in our society, be it older veterans that we care for, those who suffer from social isolation, or those who are simply overwhelmed by the challenges associated with the cost-of-living crisis.

If you need help, please call 0808 802 8080 (8am to 8pm 7 Days a week). We provide lifelong support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families

Remembrance Parade on Sunday 9th November. The parade starts at 2pm.

Road closures will be in place from 1.30pm with a clearly signed diversion.

The diversion is via Cemetery Lane, Limb Road, New Street, Percy Road, Kilnwick Road, London Street, Bridge Street and Chapmangate.

Please could we request that people avoid parking on Market Street outside the Cross Keys from 1.30pm. It would help with the parade.

Buses (X45, X46 and X47) will be on diversion.

Remembrance Sunday – Pocklington Parade & Service 🕊️

Remembrance Sunday is one of the most significant events in Pocklington’s calendar — a time for our community to come together in respect and gratitude for those who served and sacrificed for our country.

The Pocklington Remembrance Parade is organised by Pocklington Town Council, and it could not take place without the valued cooperation and support of the Royal British Legion, Pocklington School, Pocklington School CCF, and the Army Cadet Force (ACF).

Each year, the parade is further enriched by the presence of representatives from the regular and reserve forces, uniformed public services, local adult organisations, and our youth movements, particularly the Scouts and Guides.

This year’s parade will take place on Sunday 9th November, starting at 2:00pm.
The parade leaves Pocklington School, with services held at both of the town’s war memorials. The route will first visit the WWII memorial for a short service before continuing to the WWI memorial for a second service. Wreaths will be laid at both memorials, and the parade will usually conclude by 3:00pm.

You are warmly encouraged to join us by lining the streets and showing your support for all those who serve and have served.
