The distribution of mama bags to pregnant mothers who have at least attended antenatal services twice continued at Muyembe Health Centre IV. We are happy to report that 50 packs were district each month for three months of April, May and June giving a total of 150 bags distributed to 150 mothers this second quarter. The items in each package which we distribute include: baby jelly, sweaters, washing bar soap, bathing soap, baby hats, and baby grows, gloves, cotton wool and blanket. This exercise is an incentive to encourage pregnant mothers to attend antenatal services, take good care of themselves, give birth from health facilities in the hands of professional midwives and take children for routine immunization. The mama bag distribution has a significant contribution to high uptake of antenatal services by pregnant mothers.
