We recently welcomed a group of Wycombe Homeless Connection volunteers to our new Community Engagement training course.

Together, we explored our trauma-informed approach to supporting people experiencing homelessness, including how and why we speak about homelessness publicly, and the importance of protecting the privacy and dignity of the people we support.

These conversations are rooted in a simple belief: every person has worth.

Our Community Engagement volunteers will soon be out and about at events and speaking engagements across the community, helping to challenge misconceptions about homelessness, share stories of hope and recovery, and spread the word that support is available.

Eid Mubarak! 🌙

What a wonderful experience it was to be part of the Eid in the Park celebration today, hosted by

It was special to come together with so many people, not just locally but knowing that millions around the world are celebrating Eid today in their own communities.

There was such a strong sense of warmth, welcome, and togetherness throughout the day.

And of course, a little highlight in the heat! Those free ice creams were very much appreciated! A simple but perfect treat on a warm summer day.

Grateful to have been part of such a positive, inclusive, and uplifting event. Here’s to more moments like this...bringing people together, building connections, and supporting one another.

If you were at Wycombe Rye parkrun last week you may have caught a glimpse of Dane, our Volunteering Coordinator, decked out in purple and getting some kilometres under his belt.

He’s in training for Race to the Stones. A gruelling 100km run taking place in July. And he’s doing in in aid of Wycombe Homeless Connection!

This is an astonishing distance and Dane said:

"If you're going to put your body through running the equivalent of 20 Parkruns back to back (or slightly more than the distance from Oxford to London), why not do it for charity?"

Good point Dane and we are behind you all of the way!

Thank you to the team from Barnett Waddingham who joined us in the office sort a whole lot of goods and donations.

We are grateful for all of the ways they have supported us for a long time and it was a BIG help to get all of this date checked, categorised and safely stored ready for giving to people who need it.

Help in the heat if you're homeless!

It isn’t easy to stay safe when you don’t have a home, easy access to fresh water or sun protection. People who are homeless also often have health issues which are exacerbated in extreme weather and put them at higher risk.

Buckinghamshire Council's Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP) for people who are sleeping rough has been activated.

Here is how you can get help, or help someone else:

If you are worried about someone who is sleeping rough and you think they are under 18 or in immediate danger, call 999.

Our team will be giving out bottles of water and suncream, clothing, hygiene items as well as giving other help at our Support Centre on Castle Street in High Wycombe.

People can access a cool space at Buckinghamshire Council offices on Queen Victoria Road in High Wycombe and all libraries

All Saints Church, High Wycombe is also open to offer a cool space.
