This Black History Month, we spoke with High Wycombe-born writer, artist and historian Michael McMillan about the town’s Black history, its communities and the importance of preserving their stories.

As we recognise this year’s theme, ‘Honouring Our Communities’, Michael shares his reflections on the people and places that have shaped High Wycombe.

🟥 Show Racism the Red Card Day

Wycombe Wanderers Foundation Premier League Primary Stars Show Racism the Red Card Stadium Event Day ⚽

We recently welcomed 90 pupils from two of our partner schools to Adams Park for a day of learning, discussion and football.

In collaboration with Show Racism the Red Card, pupils explored issues surrounding racism, gender stereotypes and discrimination through interactive workshops.

The day also included a behind-the-scenes stadium tour and a Q&A with Wycombe Wanderers Academy and Women’s players!

There are some particularly valuable messages from the players at the end of the video, so be sure to watch until the end! 🩵

💚 Today is World Mental Health Day.

Football isn’t always just about football.

It’s about connecting with others, building confidence, finding a sense of belonging and having somewhere to turn.

At Wycombe Wanderers Foundation, we see every day how bringing people together through sport and community activities can make a difference beyond the pitch.

This World Mental Health Day, remember to check in with yourself and those around you. Sometimes, a simple conversation can go a long way.

💚 Got a green token? Pop it in our box!

From 1st October to 31st December, Wycombe Wanderers Foundation is one of the local causes featured in the Waitrose Community Matters scheme at Handy Cross, High Wycombe.

Every green token you put into our box counts towards our share of the funding available this quarter.

That funding can make a real difference to the Foundation’s day-to-day operations, helping us continue delivering programmes, activities and opportunities for people across High Wycombe and the wider community.

So, if you’re shopping at Waitrose Handy Cross over the next few months, pick up your green token at the checkout and vote for Wycombe Wanderers Foundation on your way out. 💚

A small token can make a big difference.
