𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗕𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗻 (𝗟𝗦 & 𝗞 𝟴𝟵) - 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 £𝟭𝟳𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆

Within the Old Haileyburian community, some causes remind us of the strength of our lifelong connections.

The ‘Still Mark’ initiative continues to be one such example, an OH-led effort that has already brought together support from across generations of Haileyburians, friends, and the wider community.

To date, over £170,000 has been raised, taking us more than halfway towards reaching the shared milestone of £300,000. Every step forward reflects the ongoing commitment within the OH network to stand alongside one of our own.

This support is helping provide long-term stability and continuity of care for Mark, ensuring he can live with security and dignity.

We are deeply grateful to everyone across the Old Haileyburian community who has contributed or shared the initiative so far.

𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 - 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀

As Haileybury celebrates Arts Week 2026, we're taking a look back 30 years to the Art Exhibition of 1996.

This photograph shows Old Haileyburian Oliver Chopping (M 94) alongside a selection of his striking artwork on display in the Art School. The exhibition showcased the creativity and talent that has long been a hallmark of Haileybury's artistic community.

Three decades on, it's wonderful to see that same spirit of creativity continuing to thrive through Arts Week, as pupils, staff and Old Haileyburians come together to celebrate the arts.

Old Haileyburians and guests are warmly invited to spend a summer afternoon catching up with old friends, making new connections and reminiscing about life at Haileybury.

This popular regional gathering offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy good company, lively discussion and plenty of OH camaraderie in a relaxed setting.

We are extremely grateful to John Henderson (K 54), who has generously offered to host this year's event in the beautiful surroundings of his garden in Severn Stoke, Worcester.

𝗔𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯

What is it really like to be responsible for more than 60 teenage girls living under one roof?

Yesterday, Society Trustee 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 (𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳, 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟮-𝟮𝟮; 𝗛𝗠 𝗛𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘆, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟮-𝟮𝟮) joined the Probus Ladies Lunch Club at The Galley Hall as their guest speaker, sharing fascinating insights into life as HM of Hailey House.

From memorable stories to the realities of running a busy boarding house, Alison gave members a unique glimpse into an often unseen side of Haileybury life. We were also delighted to receive a generous £50 donation to The Haileybury Society and extend our thanks to President Kay Braithwaite, Secretary Diane Warman and all the members for their warm welcome and hospitality.

Many of you will know David Rimmer (Th 76) through his passion for cricket, his sharp observations, and his countless published letters in the national press.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗻 (𝗕 𝟴𝟰) on 12 May 2026, aged 54.

During his time at Haileybury, Stanley was House Prefect & Deputy Head of House in Batten and was actively involved in school life, representing athletics, volleyball and badminton. He also served as a Colour Sergeant.

Following Haileybury, Stanley went on to study Law at the University of Nottingham before completing his Bar Finals at BPP Law School in London. He later undertook National Service with the Republic of Singapore Navy, serving as a Corporal and Recruitment NCO.

Stanley is remembered by family and friends as a devoted father, husband, brother and friend. Our thoughts are with all those who knew and loved him at this difficult time.

The Old Haileyburian Golf Society Returns to the Silver Tassie

Four OHs proudly represented the Old Haileyburian Golf Society (OHGS) at the prestigious Silver Tassie competition at The Berkshire Golf Club, returning for a second consecutive year to compete against some of the strongest alumnae golfing teams in the country.

Representing the OHGS were Sports Fellow Catherine Doel (Alb & Aby 79), Hallie Copping-Jones (H 19), Mia de Marchi (H 19) and team captain Lyndsay Barnes (M 03).

The OHGS were also delighted to welcome Lyndsay back to the Silver Tassie following the recent arrival of her baby son. Combining new motherhood with competitive golf is no small feat, and her commitment and leadership were greatly appreciated by teammates and supporters alike.

Founded in 1961, the Silver Tassie is regarded as the women's equivalent of the renowned Halford Hewitt, bringing together alumnae golfers from independent schools across the UK for one of the most respected events in the amateur golfing calendar. The competition is contested over the acclaimed Red and Blue Courses at The Berkshire Golf Club and attracts players of an exceptionally high standard.

Following their outstanding debut last year, when the OHGS finished runners-up and claimed the Silver Plate on countback, expectations were understandably high as the team returned to Berkshire.

This year's field was stronger than ever, with 28 schools and more than 100 golfers competing for honours. The team once again produced a determined performance and played some excellent golf throughout the day, acquitting themselves superbly against a highly competitive field.

More important than the final standings was the continued growth of the Old Haileyburian golfing community. Supported by fellow OHs around the course, the team embodied the spirit of friendship, sportsmanship and lifelong connection that lies at the heart of the wider Haileybury family.

The Haileybury Society is proud to support the OHGS through an annual grant, helping to encourage participation and strengthen connections between golfers across generations of Old Haileyburians.

The OHGS is always keen to welcome new members and would be delighted to hear from any OHs with an interest in golf, whether they play competitively or simply enjoy the social side of the game. In particular, the Society would love to encourage more women golfers to get involved and help build on the momentum established by the Silver Tassie team in recent years.

The Haileybury Society congratulates Catherine, Hallie, Mia and Lyndsay on representing the OHGS with such distinction and looks forward to seeing the team return to Berkshire in 2027.

𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 - 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘁

Some things change, while others stand the test of time.

These undated photographs show Dining Hall in years gone by, with College Prefects gathered around the iconic Horseshoe Table, which can still be found there today.

The table was used by the Master, College Prefects and guests, and many traditions accompanied meals here. In front stood the Roll of Honour, housed in a domed case, with the duty CP turning the page daily. Grace was said at the beginning and end of each meal until the late 1990s, and the gong nearby marked the occasion.
