A Huge Thank You! 🐾💜

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along to our Cats Tea Party! 🫖🐱🍰

It was a fantastic afternoon and went incredibly well. We were so lucky to have Liz and Jill, who did an absolutely marvellous job displaying all the lovely goodies for sale. They spent nearly three hours setting everything up, and their creativity really showed — everything looked so attractive and inviting! 🌸✨ Thank you also to all the other volunteers who helped set up, baked cakes, sold raffle tickets and everyone else who was there on the day - you are amazing! And not to forget Toby who came out to inspect the toys with catnip in them. 🐾💜

The weather clouded over a little, but it was actually a bonus when it came to enjoying our tea and cake! ☕🍰 We had gazebos and sun umbrellas ready for cover, so everyone was kept comfortable.

And now for the AMAZING total! 🎉

💜 £331 in donations
💜 £691 raised from the event, stalls, teas and collection boxes

🐾 GRAND TOTAL: £1,026 and counting! 🐾

What an incredible result! Every pound raised will help Cats Protection continue supporting cats and kittens in need.

Aniseed, Liquorice & Humbug

We have three gorgeous black kittens looking for a safe, preferably rural, home away from traffic and access to a garden where they can let off steam.. Liquorice & Aniseed are male and Humbug is female. They are extremely playful, and adore their feather stick toys, although they do tend to get over stimulated and would not be suitable for a household with young children. All three are friendly little purrpots and love attention. Are you looking for one or more little panthers to make your life complete?

A Cats Protection survey of 1,000 UK parents found that living with cats may help children develop important social and emotional skills, including understanding boundaries, empathy and respect. The research found that 95% of parents believed cat ownership had helped their child understand respect and boundaries, while 93% said it had improved their understanding of personal space and 85% said their children had learned that “no” does not have to be communicated verbally. The article featured Caleb Richards, who said growing up with cats taught him “patience, empathy and the importance of paying attention to how someone is feeling, even when they don't say it out loud”. Commenting on the findings, Daniel Warren-Cummings, Senior Behaviour Engagement Manager at Cats Protection, said: “This research shows just how much children can gain from living with cats, from empathy to emotional intelligence. With a little support and understanding, families can make sure those lessons are positive for everyone, including the cat.”

ALL NOW GONE TO THEIR NEW HOMES - thank you to everyone who showed an interest in these lovely kittens.

Opal (light tortoiseshell female), Jet (black & white male) and Onyx (torby & white female). These gorgeous kittens are very friendly, playful, purr most of the time, and love fuss & attention. They need of a safe home, away from busy roads with access to a garden and preferably someone home quite a lot of the time. Ready for their forever homes – all are microchipped, litter tray trained, neutered and have had their vaccinations. If you would be interested in giving one, two or even all three a forever home please contact us.
