🎉 BINGO NIGHT! 🎉

Come and join us for a fun evening of bingo, laughter and good company on Friday 25th September at Cusop Hall.

🕖 Doors open: 7.00pm
🎱 Eyes down: 7.30pm
🎟️ Tickets: £12 in advance (includes tea, coffee and cake!)

This event is open to everyone aged 16+, so bring your family and friends along for a great night out.

🛒 Shopping just got a little easier 🛒

Hay & District Dial-a-Ride has started a new Shopping Buddies scheme, running on Tuesday mornings.

This service is ideal if you’d like a bit of extra support while you shop. One of our friendly volunteers will:
✨ accompany you in store
✨ help you reach items
✨ help find products and check labels
✨ provide reassurance and a steady helping hand

🚌 Normal Dial-a-Ride fares apply (this is not a free transport service), but the shopping buddy support is included.

🎥 A little glimpse of what Hay & District Dial-a-Ride is all about…

We’re delighted to share this wonderful video again, made by our volunteer driver, Adam, showing just a little of the difference Dial-a-Ride makes in our local community.

Our volunteers are at the very heart of what we do – helping people stay independent, get where they need to go, and remain connected with their community.

And right now, we’d love some more people to join us.

We currently have vacancies for:

🚗 Volunteer Community Car Drivers – using your own car to help local people with essential journeys and appointments.

🚌 2 Volunteer Passenger Assistants – supporting passengers on our accessible minibuses and helping make their journeys safe, comfortable and enjoyable.

📋 Volunteer Treasurer / Trustee – joining our Board of Trustees and helping oversee the financial wellbeing and future of our charity.

Whether you can give a little time regularly or occasionally, your help could make a genuine difference to people living in Hay-on-Wye and the surrounding rural communities.

Hay & District Dial-a-Ride offers a Prescription Delivery Service for members in the Hay and Talgarth areas, with deliveries on Tuesday and Friday mornings.

✔ Free of charge
✔ Friendly local volunteers
✔ Available from local surgeries and chemists

Please remember:
📌 Two working days’ notice is essential
📌 If you may be out, you must nominate a safe place for us to leave your prescription
📌 We are unable to carry controlled drugs

Hay & District Dial-a-Ride is looking for a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees.

This is a really important role in helping us keep our finances healthy, sustainable and transparent, and ensuring we can continue providing our vital community transport service to local people.

We’re looking for someone with a good understanding of finance, bookkeeping or financial management, who is organised, analytical and able to communicate clearly. You don’t necessarily need previous experience as a charity Treasurer, but you do need to care about what we do and the difference Dial-a-Ride makes in our community. 💙

The role involves quarterly Board meetings, our AGM and regular input between meetings.

COULD YOU SPARE A LITTLE TIME TO MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE?

We’re looking for more volunteer Community Car Drivers to join the Hay & District Dial-a-Ride team — and we’re especially keen to hear from people in Rhosgoch, Painscastle, Llyswen and Bredwardine.

Our Community Car volunteer drivers use their own cars to help local people get to medical and hospital appointments when getting there by other means can be difficult.

💙 You choose when you’re available
🚗 Use your own car
💷 Mileage reimbursed at 55p per mile
📅 Even one journey a month can make a genuine difference
😊 Meet new people and help someone in your own community

There’s no pressure to be available every week. We’d much rather have several drivers each able to offer the occasional journey — a couple of spare hours really can help someone enormously.

If you live in Rhosgoch, Painscastle, Llyswen, Bredwardine or even other locations in the surrounding area, we’d love to hear from you.
