The Medaille Trust is a charity in the United Kingdom founded by several Catholic Congregations. Its main aim is to end the trafficking and enslavement of women, children and young men to the s*x industry. The charity currently operates nine houses in the UK and outreach services, providing support and help to people freed from trafficking situations. We are excited to see our 20 Years, 20 Stops Art Roadshow featured in the Swindon Advertiser ahead of its arrival in Toothill this November.

This exhibition showcases artwork created by survivors of modern slavery, sharing their experiences through art and exploring themes of trauma, recovery, resilience, and hope.
We will be at The Hub, Toothill Village Centre, Swindon, from Monday, November 23, to Friday, November 27, 2026. If you are in the area, we would love for you to join us, see the artwork, and learn more about the stories behind it.

🎨 We’re pleased to share that Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN) has published an article about Medaille Trust’s 20 Years, 20 Stops Art Roadshow.

In “Finding Their Voice Again”: Medaille Trust’s Art Roadshow, CSAN explores the story behind the Roadshow, the role survivors have played in shaping it, and how creativity can provide a powerful way to express experiences, identity and hope.

The article also looks at the impact the Roadshow is having as it travels across the UK, helping people connect with the individuals behind the statistics and challenging some of the stereotypes surrounding modern slavery.

With the support of Medaille Trust, she and her children were provided with safe accommodation and access to essential services, including healthcare, counseling, and community resources.

This assistance has been crucial in helping them recover and move forward. Today, she is taking positive steps towards independence, stability, and a brighter future.

Every survivor deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

At our Art Roadshow in Twickenham, visitors came together to experience a moving exhibition of artwork created by survivors of modern slavery.

We’ve been awarded £25,000 from the Charles Plater Trust to support our work helping people affected by modern slavery and exploitation.
The competition for funding was extremely strong this year, with only 8% of applications receiving support, so this award means a great deal to our team and everyone we work alongside.

Last week, our Coastal service users enjoyed a well-deserved seaside trip, taking time to relax, connect, and enjoy the simple joys of being together. Moments like these play an important role in supporting wellbeing, building confidence, and creating lasting memories on the journey towards recovery.

During our Art Roadshow, Antonia Pascal, Criminal Exploitation Consultant at the Bakhita Centre, spoke about the importance of recognising art as more than creativity, it can be a pathway to healing, recovery, and self-expression.

For survivors of modern slavery, having a safe space to create can be an opportunity to simply be present, to rediscover their identity, and to be seen as artists rather than defined by their experiences.
