🩵🐦 MEET CIRRUS – OUR BEAUTIFUL BUDGIE 🐦🩵

Say hello to Cirrus, a gorgeous 10-year-old blue and white budgie who is looking for a very special new home! 💙🤍

Despite being a little older, Cirrus is still a very active girl who loves keeping busy – especially swinging happily on her favourite swing! 🥰

She can take a little time to get comfortable, but once she trusts you, Cirrus will happily stand up on your hand. 🥹🩵

🐰💗 MEET AMOS & AGNES – A VERY SPECIAL BUNNY PAIR 💗🐰

Looking for a pair of gentle, lovable bunnies to welcome into your home? Meet Amos and Agnes! 🥰

Amos is a handsome 6-year-old black boy with a couple of little white dots, while Agnes is a beautiful 5-year-old black and tan girl. 🖤🤎

They arrived with us when their owner could no longer care for them. They can be a little shy, but they are a very sweet pair who are growing in confidence every day. 💕

🐰 Amos weighs 2.43kg
🐰 Agnes weighs 1.9kg

🏡 Their perfect home:

✨ Can live indoors or outdoors
✨ A calm, patient family who will give them time to settle

🐾💗 MEET PIGEON – OUR LOVELY SHY GIRL 💗🐾

Pigeon has been through more than any dog should. She arrived at RSPCA Brighton on 4th June after being abandoned in a house by her previous owner. Now, she’s ready to find someone who will give her the time, patience and love she deserves. 🥹🏡

🌸 Pigeon is a very sweet, sensitive girl who is slowly learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. Once she starts to relax, her wonderfully silly personality comes out – expect zoomies, clumsy crashes and plenty of goofy moments! 😂💨

She can be nervous and overwhelmed in new situations and will need an experienced owner who understands that she won’t find her confidence overnight.

🐶 Pigeon is much more confident around other dogs, so we’re looking for a home with a resident dog who has a similar energy level. Introductions will need to take place at the shelter.

🏡 Her ideal home:
✨ Experienced owners
✨ A quiet, settled environment
✨ No young children
✨ A resident dog with a similar energy
✨ Her own garden would be a real bonus
✨ Someone who will give her time to settle and build her confidence

🌧️🐱 Rainy day = nap day! 💤

It’s our first proper rainy day in what feels like forever, and we’re definitely embracing it here at RSPCA Bluebell Ridge!

What’s the perfect rainy-day activity? Curling up somewhere cosy and enjoying/falling asleep to the soothing sound of the rain. 😴🌧️

Well, Boursin definitely agrees… just look at how we found him today! 😂💤

We absolutely LOVE discovering our cats snoozing in their strange and wonderful sleeping positions. So now we want to see yours! 👀

🐈‍⬛🖤 BLACK CAT APPRECIATION DAY JUST GOT A WHOLE LOT MORE SPECIAL… 🖤🐈‍⬛

Today, on Black Cat Appreciation Day, we’re celebrating one very special boy… Gomez has found his forever home! 🥹🏡❤️

Gomez had been waiting patiently at RSPCA Bluebell Ridge for 9 long months. Sadly, his nervous nature, combined with being a black cat, meant that he was repeatedly overlooked. 💔

But yesterday, everything changed.

The most amazing couple came to meet Gomez, and it was quite simply love at first sight. ❤️ From the moment they met him, it was clear that this was the family our sweet boy had been waiting for.

And today, we watched Gomez head off to begin his new life. 🥹🐾

There wasn’t a dry eye in the cattery. Our incredible cattery team, both staff and volunteers, have loved, cared for and championed Gomez throughout his 9-month stay. Seeing him finally head home with his very own family was an incredibly emotional moment. 😭❤️

Gomez, we hope your new life is filled with sunny windows, cosy naps, endless love and all the treats your little heart desires. 🖤

Today is proof that black cats are just as deserving of love, patience and a forever home as every other cat.

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day, Gomez. You finally got your happily ever after. 🐈‍⬛👑🏡❤️

🐾🌎 Happy International Cat Day! 🌎🐾

Today is all about celebrating the wonderful cats who make our lives brighter — and what better way to celebrate than by sharing some incredible news from RSPCA Bluebell Ridge! ❤️

July was a record-breaking month for our rescue… 🎉

🏆 33 cats found their forever homes! 🏆

That’s the highest number of cats we have ever rehomed in a single month in the history of our rescue! We couldn’t be more proud, and we certainly couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of our adopters, volunteers, fosterers and supporters. 🥰

But every one of those 33 adoptions means so much more than just a cat finding a home.

🏡 It means a family has gained a new companion.
❤️ It means a cat has been given the second chance they deserve.
🐾 And it means a space has been created at the rescue for another cat who desperately needs our help.

Every adoption creates a ripple effect, helping not just one cat, but potentially many more.

We’re looking forward to seeing even more of our wonderful cats heading off to their forever homes over the coming months. There are still so many waiting patiently for their chance — and we hope their happily-ever-after is just around the corner. 🥹❤️

So, on International Cat Day, we’re celebrating 33 very special cats who are no longer waiting for their forever homes… and all the cats who will benefit from the space their adoptions have created.

Already have a cat at home? 🐱

Finding the right companion for your resident feline can make all the difference, and we have several wonderful boys who are looking for forever homes where they'd love to have a feline friend!

🐾 Boursin (1 year old)
Despite losing a back leg after an old untreated fracture, Boursin hasn't let anything slow him down. This affectionate lad loves a fuss and is often found trying to make friends and play with the cats in the neighbouring pens.

🐾 Stilton (1 year old)
Stilton arrived from a multi-cat household as a very frightened boy, but with patience he's blossomed into a cheeky, friendly cat. His favourite pastime? Playing footsie under the run doors with his neighbouring cats!

🐾 Nuts (1½ years old)
A gentle, timid boy who came from a multi-animal household, Nuts grows in confidence every day. He takes great comfort from the company of other friendly cats, making him an ideal companion for a calm, adult-only home with a confident resident feline.

🐾 Chester (2 years old)
Chester is a sweet lad who enjoys affection on his own terms. He isn't keen on being picked up, so he's looking for owners who will let him decide when it's fuss time. He's forever trying to play with the kittens next door! Chester has feline asthma, which is currently well managed with a low dose of steroids, although we'd ideally like to help him learn to use an inhaler in the future.

🐾 Gomez (3 years old)
One of 12 cats who came into our care as part of a cruelty case, Gomez has now spent an incredible 9 months waiting for his forever home. Although a little shy at first, he's becoming more confident every day and absolutely loves watching and interacting with the neighbouring cats. We know he'd thrive in a home with a friendly feline companion.

Nine weeks... 💔

That's how long Susie and Lulu have been waiting for someone to choose them.

While other kittens have found their forever homes, these lovely sisters have been quietly overlooked. We think it's because they're a little older than many of the kittens we've had available recently.
