Lisa recently spent some time with the amazing knitters from Fresh Visions, who have generously donated a wonderful collection of handmade items 💛

These thoughtful creations will be shared across the hospital wards and in our gift shop, bringing comfort and smiles to patients and visitors alike.

Today Jo and the rest of the Social Leaders cohort celebrated the completion of a six-month programme to develop leadership skills across the charity sector in Hastings.

Yesterday Jo visited the NHS Retirees Group that meets at Bexhill Health Centre for a lovely Strawberry Afternoon Tea and to give a talk about the work of the Friends.🍓

"It was such a pleasure listening to stories from some of the members, including how before ready access to phones District Nurse visits in rural areas were arranged by the use of a tea towel over the gate."

Did you know that over the last three decades, The Friends of Conquest Hospital have raised nearly £4 million?

​That money doesn’t just sit there. It buys vital medical equipment that the NHS simply cannot afford to replace, from advanced MRI components and laparoscopy systems to small comforts like specialist chairs and emergency toiletry kits for unexpected stays.

​Every time you pick up a "Gingerbread Friend" at the 1066 Bakery cafe (where 25p comes to us!), visit one of our shops, or drop your spare change into a collection tin at your local pub, you are making this happen.

Before the hospital was built, the site was closely associated with Kolster-Brandes (KB), a famous radio and television manufacturer.

​The factory was a major employer in the area for decades.

​When the hospital was constructed in the late 1980s and early 90s, it essentially replaced the industrial heart of that part of The Ridge, shifting the site from electronics manufacturing to modern healthcare.
