A wet session in the woods yesterday but that didn’t stop us from getting a lot completed.

Grass cut, footpath clearance undertaken and some weeding on the flower bed bank.

We’d had a few plants donated and these have been planted on the flower bed bank and in the rockery.

Session finished early due to rain but we still managed tea and biscuits.

Lovely sunny session in the woods yesterday. Over on the Church Street side we cleared both footpaths which lead down to the valley floor and undertook some bindweed clearance, from near the pond and rockery bed. In the Communiyy Garden we were getting ready for our Open Day!
Hopefully see lots of you there!

Session finished in the community garden with tea, biscuits and sunshine.

These photos are from last week’s productive Thursday session in the woods.

Having moved 22 full wheelbarrows of rubble from near the green hut, which will be used on another project, we tidied up the uncovered space by making a rockery/flowerbed. Planted some succulents and ground cover plants to neaten up round the green hut.

Further clearance on the bank by the flowerbed, uncovering many poppy plants which self seeded from last year.

Also took away the litter recently collected and the recycled rubbish which has gone into my green recycling bin for collection.

Thankyou for the 2 hosepipe reels which have been donated so far following last weeks ask. Once we have enough we will be able to easily water the trees and fill the pond, courtesy of one of our nearby residents and supporter.

The rain held off today so we were able to continue clearing the bank behind the long flowerbed, over on the Church Street side of the woods. Plenty of ladybirds, including a couple of very photogenic ones.

The plants in the ‘rockery’ which were planted last week are all looking great too.

Work taking place in the Community Garden too and all new plants are starting to grow!

The rain held off so we were able to continue clearing the bank behind the flowerbeds on Church Street side of the woods. The grass also received its last cut of the year. Managed a bit of weeding on the flowerbeds too, and amazed to see how many bulbs and flowers are already starting to come up. Hopefully they will survive the winter.
We also marked out a new bed at the Community Garden and planted some winter onions and spring bulbs.
