We had more visitors this week. 😃

Our local councillors popped in again to get to know us, see what we do and find out how they can help us. They are very keen to get to know the community and its needs so do get in touch with them if you have a question or concern.

We also had a visit from a lovely hearing assistance dog in training. She used to visit a lot, but has moved on to the next phase of her training so we haven’t seen her for a while. She’s back for a while on holiday, so we got to say hello and see how much she’s progressed.

We made some progress with our jigsaw, did some craft and had some games of Rummikub.

This week we were able to have a good catch up with people who’d been busy over the summer and had cake to celebrate a birthday.

We also had a lot of visitors this week. Our local councillors popped in to introduce themselves.

Support dog Rufus brought along his friend Millie. She was rescued from a horrible situation and is needs to learn how to be around people. We were happy to help!

We started a new jigsaw and our Rummikub players certainly sounded like they were having a lot of fun!!

We had a lovely, relaxing trip along the River Wey today with Swingbridge Community Boats.

The river was teaming with wildlife. We saw dragonflies, butterflies, ducks, geese, moorhens (and chicks) and a swan. There were also plenty of gulls and red kites to be seen.

There were lots of other folk enjoying the river in the sunshine. We passed a flotilla of kayakers, a couple of canoeists and a gaggle of paddle boarders.

This week we used our acrylic pens to paint some bookmarks. We also started a new jigsaw.

This is Jeanette. She runs the Muddy Boots walking group, based at QE Park Baptist Church, Guildford. She was also one of our volunteer hosts at Renew for several years.

In September she’ll be undertaking a marathon length ‘Walk For A Cure’ to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK.

Jeanette is a wonderfully kind and generous person, who spends most of her time helping others, so we are very pleased to have an opportunity to support her for a change!

It was rather hot today so we did our best to keep cool! Fans on full and lots of water. 🥵😎

We finished our latest jigsaw and used our acrylic pens to paint various things.

We also played Rumikub and had a few games of Triominoes- an old favourite we haven’t played for a while.

Winnie the Pooh, who came to visit us a few weeks ago, has made it to Ukraine, along with his friend Big Ted. 🇺🇦

He now lives with family who had to flee their home. The children were unable to take any toys with them. Winnie the Pooh and Big Ted will give them lots of hugs. 🤗 🧸🥰

Lots of people on holiday this week so we had quiet, relaxed afternoon getting to know some of our newer guest a bit better.

Our knitters continued their projects and we painted some more wooden wreaths and decorations.
