🎄💛 Bringing people together this Christmas with Gaskins’ Free Christmas Lunch!

Christmas can be a difficult time for many, and the wonderful family behind Gaskins’ Free Christmas Lunch are helping make sure that anyone who needs a meal can enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner on Christmas Day, completely free of charge.

The Community Wellbeing Team recently visited the family to hear more about their amazing project and the difference they make in our community.

We were delighted to contribute £300 towards this year’s Christmas lunch, helping support their fantastic work and bring people together over a warm meal at a time when community and connection matter so much. ❤️🍽️

This is just one example of how donations made through Thrive at The Hive go back into our community, supporting people and projects that make a real difference.

A huge thank you to the Gaskins family for everything they do! 🐝💛

A big thank you to Guildford High School for donating bags and bags of tins and dry goods following their Harvest Festival! 💛

For some local households, having enough food can be a real challenge. Donations like these help us make sure that good, nutritious food reaches people who may need a little extra support.

All of this food will go into our Community Pantry, where it will help local residents and families who are facing a difficult time.

It’s amazing to see how a school harvest collection can make a difference beyond the school gates and turning generous donations into practical support for people in our local community. 🐝💚

Thank you to everyone at Guildford High School who contributed!

Playrangers service update 🛝🌳

We wanted to let residents know that our Playrangers sessions are currently paused while we carry out a review of the service.

We know how much children, young people and families value opportunities to play, explore and spend time outdoors after school. We also recognise the positive contribution Playrangers has made in our communities.

Over the coming months, we’ll be reviewing the service and considering how it could be reintroduced in a way that best meets the needs of our residents and communities.

We’ll share further information as the review progresses and keep residents updated about any future plans.

Thank you for your understanding and patience while we take the time to consider the best way forward.
