Please feel free to come and say hello and/or join us next Saturday at Shorne Woods parkrun
Great to see 229 of you at Shorne Woods for on 21 February 2026. The course conditions were good, with 33 first timers joining us - including 9 completing their first ever parkrun and 24 visiting Shorne Woods for the first time. There were also 21 PBs recorded.
The first male finisher today was Aidan Phillips Smith (19:35). Sophie Galley (24:01) was first female finisher. The highest age grade of the day was achieved by Lisa Bowring (74.87%).
Well done everyone and hope you’ll be back at Shorne Woods again soon. 👏 👏 👏
Congrats also to those reaching milestones this week:
Paula Perry (50)
Lyn Ager (200)

A reminder that it’s never too early to volunteer for next week’s event. If you can help at (Saturday 28 February) - or at a future event - please drop us a line with your preferred role(s) at [email protected]
Volunteers get free parking and a volunteer credit and there are roles you can do alongside your walk/run, including pre-event set up or post-event closedown, token sorting, run report writer, park walker, tail walker and more.
A reminder also that this Saturday is our monthly Shorne Woods Shorne Woods 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer event. This initiative encourages anyone affected by cancer (including friends and family) to meet at parkrun on the last Saturday of each month to run, walk or simply talk. Look out for our volunteers in the blue t-shirts and do share with friends and family members who may be interested.
See you next week,
Janet
