Beautiful sunny Halloween at Shorne Woods parkrun for 5K Your Way. Move Against Cancer day. Ambassadors were out in force, some not looking their normal selves! Roll on next month for our 1st anniversary at Shorne Woods.

Thank you to Istead & Ifield Harriers Running Club Gravesend and the fantastic North Downs Run for their generous donation to MOVE Against Cancer Charity. Your continued support is greatly appreciated

If you are affected by cancer either directly or indirectly and would like to talk or walk, jog or run with us please come over to us near our flag on the last Saturday in November.

Saturday is 5K Your Way. Move Against Cancer day. Feel free to join us at Shorne Woods parkrun for a chat and you want to walk, jog, run some or all of the parkrun followed by coffee in the cafe. Should be a special day as the North Downs Run committee will be making a presentation to MOVE Against Cancer Charity as part of their distribution from the 2026 race. We are very grateful for their generosity.

5K Your Way is a key initiative by Move Against Cancer Charity that supports the importance of movement and exercise for anyone impacted by cancer either directly or indirectly. We are based at nearly 150 parkruns around the UK and meet on the last Saturday of every month. Come and say hello!

With 135+ groups and over 1500 attendees each month, 5k Your Way is one of the fastest growing movement based cancer support initiatives in the UK. We are excited to share that at least 2 more groups will be launching in November! Lovely morning at Shorne Woods parkrun today. Great to see Rosemary Moore, Julie Aspinall, Jackie Day, Janet Murray, Jon Gurney and Claire Gurney our wonderful ambassadors.

A change of weather for this month’s meet at Shorne Woods parkrun. Rain and much cooler, a pleasant change. Great to see Maggie Harris, Jackie Day, Rosemary Moore, Julie Aspinall, Jon Gurney, Janet Murray & Claire Gurney showing their support for 5K Your Way. Move Against Cancer. Also shout out to Gary Groutage who was away on manoeuvres at Sheringham parkrun. See you next month!

It’s an early one this month! Who’s joining us this Saturday at Shorne Woods parkrun? Think the weather still set fair and probably still quite warm. We’d love to see you if you’re affected by cancer either directly or indirectly. We’d love you to say “hi” and join us to chat or walk, jog, run some all all of the parkrun and then have a coffee in the cafe afterwards.
