We had a lovely visit from Jed today, who joined us for a Halloween respite session with our amazing Children’s Services team! 🧡

Jed got creative decorating his own pumpkin before heading off trick or treating around our hospice, meeting our wonderful team along the way.

We’re so proud of our incredible Children’s Services team for creating special moments, bringing smiles and supporting children and their families when they need it most. 💜

Could our Children’s Services support your family? Visit ellenor.org to find out more.

Thank you to all our supporters who help make moments like these possible!

A huge thank you to the fantastic team at The Jolly Drayman Pub and Hotel!

On 16 August, two members of their cricket team took on Old Gravesendians CC in a brilliant fundraising match, raising an incredible £1,136.50 for us!

What makes this even more special is that this is set to become an annual event, with the team hoping to make it bigger and better every year.

We absolutely love seeing our supporters come together, have fun and make such a wonderful difference. A massive thank you to everyone involved for helping make the day such a success.

Here’s to next year’s match!

“Put a ladder down for other people to climb.”

For ellenor trustee Temi Aina, inclusion is not about ticking a box. It’s about using your voice, influence and position to make sure there is space for everyone.

But what made Temi see ellenor differently? And why did hearing families say they felt “safe” at ellenor stay with her?

From Gravesend to the ellenor boardroom, Temi shares her story of community, belonging, leadership and why the decisions we make matter most when people are at their most vulnerable.

Open to EVERYONE this sensitive and informative event will help you understand the end of life journey and how we can support each other

Based on data, many families /friends of deceased patients say,

“I wish I had known more about what to expect.”

This course aims to gently and non-clinically make us aware of what the last year of a life could potentially look like. Including fatigue, loss of appetite, withdrawal, conversations, Medications, equipment, Respect, ACP, Grief, and so much more.

While this will help some to gain a picture of what the future may look like, Others can gain knowledge on how to have conversations around the changes.

When we see sudden deterioration, it can be distressing and lead to carers calling 999, this potentially can result in hospital admissions, which can be very stressful and frightening for all concerned. Especially if the preferred place of care is home.

Why hospice care should start sooner
