Gravesham with Ebbsfleet Rotary

Big, big thanks to all for a great 'On Your Bike' charity cycle ride yesterday Sunday when 380 riders set out from the riverside at Gravesend on their 15, 30 and 45 mile routes.

Yes it was 10 degrees with blustery winds when you set off but we hope some later sunshine and lots of our special checkpoint bread pudding compensated.

Our thanks to those 80 riders who decided to grow our numbers by arriving on the day and to our registration team for seeing you got away for the start.

Our youngest rider was two years in his seat on father's cycle and we know of at least one 84 year old! Sweepers from Gravesend CTC followed up and RAYNET radio kept us all in touch.

Rotary groups and Lions helped provide our checkpoints and the Gravesham with Ebbsfleet Rotary OYB team co-ordinated it all.

Not forgetting our sponsors who help us make every penny raised donated.

Yes it is now over 37 years that On Your Bike has been providing this wheel power to help vital charities and this year Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Services are the main beneficiary plus other Rotary supported charities.

We are getting ready for tomorrow Sunday!

There are 270 riders registered already for On Your Bike 2025 and we usually get lots more arrive on the day!

Our cyclist leave the riverside at Gravesend from 8.45am heading across the marshes or Lower Higham to complete 15, 30 and 45 mile routes using their wheel power to help vital charities.

Look out for them on the Hoo Peninsular and also around Harvel and Stansted.

On Your Bike has been organised by Rotary now for over 30 years! Gravesham with Ebbsfleet Rotary says many thanks to the sponsors who have helped us make it happen. Do support them.

If you are coming -- bring another rider too. There is lots of room!
Rolling start at 8.45am and registrations taken until 10.00am.

Yes -- it is On Your Bike this weekend. Hundreds of riders heading out from Gravesend Riverside Leisure Area from 8.45am on Sunday across the marshes to Higham and along the Rochester Road to eventually complete 15, 30 and 45 mile routes.

Rotary in Gravesend has organised this charity ride for over 30 years and through wheel power and public support raised now hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities.

You can still get that cycle out of the garage and join in. Look for details on the On Your Bike page.

There is online direct registration or you can arrive on the day up to 10.00am on Sunday.

Checkpoints and support on route -- come and use your wheelpower!

This time next Sunday we will have had hundreds of people on their bikes!

Become one of them -- get that cycle from the garage/shed. Find the oil and cycle clips and register. We have over 200 riders registered already.

Have you got a bike in your garage or shed? Get the oil out, find your cycle clips and come and join us for On Your Bike 2025.

With registrations steadily coming in we are now 24 days away from Sunday, 18 May, when you can cycle 15, 30 or 45 mile routes out from and back to Gravesend promenade.

If you already ride On Your Bike then bring another rider with you. You know the routes, welcome and atmosphere of On Your Bike -- introduce someone new to the experience! See you there!
