Dig In Community Shop, Govan

At our veg stall on Saturday the 10th October we'll have some apple pressing equipment kindly lent by The Orchard Project and Glasgow Community Food Net as well as lots of seasonal harvest vegetables and the usual range!

So if you bring some apples you've gathered from gardens or public land and some clean bottles, you can press them and take the juice home! We'll also have plenty to taste if you want to try some freshly pressed apple juice while you shop.

Donations of apples welcome in the shop Wednesday or Friday between 10 and 5:30 the week before. on Instagram also have a map of where to find apple trees on public land in Glasgow.

The Govan Fruiters Stall will be at Govan Cross again this Saturday from 10am-2pm 🍏🍐🍊🍋🍌🍉🍇🍓🫐🍑🥝🍅🍆

We'd like to invite those living in Govan and the surrounding area to take part in the research element of the project led by the University of Glasgow. Throughout 2026 we've been recruiting people to answer questions about their shopping habits and diet which will help us evaluate the impact of the stall. If you're interested in taking part and receiving a £15 voucher come and chat to us at the stall this Saturday 🍎

We really appreciate all the positive feedback we've had about the stall so far and each customer we've had. We are currently funded to run the stall until January and if you want to support us to carry on, taking part in the research is a major way that you can do this. You can also email the research team at [email protected] if you'd like to find out more or want to take part but can't make it along on Saturdays.
