Thanks to Lil Brookes for a brilliant afternoon exploring the history of Johnstone and Johnstone Castle! ☺️

πŸ“œβ˜• Auld Friends Take a Trip Down Memory Lane

Our Auld Friends Group had a fantastic afternoon this week with Lil Brookes, who brought along some amazing historic maps of Johnstone and Johnstone Castle for everyone to explore.

There was lots of chat around the tables as members searched for familiar streets, landmarks and places from years gone by. The old maps sparked plenty of memories and stories, making for a really enjoyable session.

Of course, there was time for a cuppa, sandwiches and cakes too! πŸ°β˜•

A huge thank you to Lil Brookes for sharing her knowledge and bringing local history to life for the group.

We're also grateful to Renfrewshire Council's Winter Connections Fund for helping us provide refreshments for our Auld Friends members.

πŸ“Έ Have a look through some of the photos from the day!
