Oor Linsey has had the cheek of taking a WEEK OFF! 😱😂

So, some of the other amazing Good Food Scotland staff will be stepping in to run the shop while she’s away. And she’s going to be super embarrassed when she finds out our stash of spare bags is looking a wee bit… lacking! 🙈

So please, if you’re coming shopping, bring your own bag.

And if you’re feeling extra generous, bring some spare bags along for us too. ❤️

We have nailed it for this week's Feed Your Family!

For one, this is NO FUSS! For two, feeding a family of 4 for £2.65... that is our best yet! For three, you're saving £1 instead of going to the big supermarkets!

So head into our wee community shop and feed your family for MUCH less, plus stay for a cuppa and wads of banter! ☕😂

And in case you're wondering if our sums add up:

🍝 Penne pasta: Us 55p / Big supermarket 69p
🥓 Bacon: Us £1.00 / Big supermarket £1.49

That's a £1 saving!

Prices are correct at the time of posting, but they can change, and sometimes we have to do a wee bit of pricing jiggery pokery! 😂 Oor Linsey is always on the look out for the best bargains and doing her best to make sure you get a good deal in oor wee shop!

So, with the full backing of the people, we'll continue blethering. Pop in tomorrow between 2–5pm for a chat, a laugh and some affordable shopping. ❤️

Something wickedly wonderful is happening at the Pearce Institute this Halloween! 👻

As part of our 120th Anniversary celebrations, we’re throwing open the doors for an afternoon of Halloween fun, games, snacks and plenty of spooky surprises and we want to see as many local families as possible there! 🧙‍♀️🎃

Proper family comfort food for under £5! 🥔❤️

This week's Feed Your Family for £5 or Less is a classic cottage pie, packed with beef, mixed vegetables and topped with a generous layer of mashed potato.

And the best bit? The ingredients cost just £4.90 and make enough to feed a family of four! 🙌

That's £1.83 cheaper than the supermarket for a proper, hearty family meal.

Our shop network is expanding! 🫶

☀️ Good morning everyone!
Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.

We’ve got some exciting news to share with you this morning!

We’re delighted to announce that Good Food Scotland is working in partnership with the good folks at Ardenglen Housing Association as The Castlemilk Pantry begins its transition to a new Community Shop model.
🛒 💚

From October 2026, the new Castlemilk Community Shop will be based at the Birgidale Complex, continuing to provide access to affordable food for the local community, while giving members more choice and helping create a more sustainable model for the future.

This is a pilot project, and we’re really looking forward to working alongside Ardenglen Housing Association, members, volunteers and the wider Castlemilk community as we get it up and running.

The new Community Shop will also sit alongside the wider support already provided by Ardenglen, including links to money advice, energy advice, digital support, tenancy sustainment and other community services.

We’re really excited to be bringing the Good Food Scotland Community Shop model to Castlemilk and can’t wait to get started! 💚
