🎄 YES, WE KNOW IT'S ONLY AUGUST... 🎄

And yes, we are using the C word! No, not that one... Christmas! 😂

I'll let you into a little secret... 🤫

I'm talking to Santa's elves to see if he might be able to pop into our wee community shop before Christmas! 🎅✨

But if Santa does come, we're going to need FAR more decorations than we currently have in the cupboard. And when I say we have a small box, I mean a SMALL box. 😂

So, if you're having a clear-out before the festive season begins, please think of your wee community shop. ❤️

🎄 We'd love any unwanted Christmas decorations! 🎄

Baubles, tinsel, lights, ornaments, Christmas trees, wreaths... anything festive that you no longer need could help us spread a wee bit of Christmas joy in Linthouse. ✨

And we promise... donating to your community shop will definitely help keep you on Santa's nice list! 🎅😉

Random Acts of Kindness ❤️

This week has been one of those weeks that reminds us why we love our wee community shop so much. Although, let's face it, that could be any week. ❤️

Today, one of our lovely members quietly paid for the shopping of the person in front of her. No fuss, no recognition wanted, just a simple act of kindness. ❤️

And on Tuesday, another of our members donated a beautiful tree for outside the shop! 🌳💗

Two completely different acts of kindness, but both show the same thing: people looking out for their community.

We really do have the best wee shop and the best members. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who helps make Linthouse Community Shop what it is. 🥰

This week we're making a tasty **Tuna Pasta Bake** that serves four people, for just **£4.30**!

Here's what you'll need from Linthouse Community Shop:

🥫 Tuna – 50p
🌽 Sweetcorn – 30p
🥛 1L milk – 95p
🧀 200g cheese – £1.50
🍝 Pasta – 55p
🍅 Colman's Tuna Pasta Bake sauce mix – 50p

**Total: £4.30!** 🎉

That's **£1.70 less than buying the same basket at a supermarket**.

And because you're buying the full packs, you'll have milk, cheese, pasta and sweetcorn left over to use in other meals during the week, helping your shopping go even further. 💚

The recipe is quick and easy too, taking around **15 minutes to cook**.

Join us for some gentle stretching, a relaxed walk and a cuppa and biscuit afterwards. ☕️🍪

We’re starting something new at Linthouse Community Shop! 😊

Each week we’re going to pick a family meal and see how cheaply we can make it using things from the shop.

This week it’s Chilli Con Carne 🌶️

🥩 500g beef mince
🍚 1kg white rice
🌶️ 500g Chilli con carne cooking sauce
🌽 200g Tortilla chips

Total: £4.30, enough to feed a family of 4! 🙌

The same ingredients from a leading supermarket would cost £5.59, so that’s a saving of £1.29.

And the best bit? You can pick everything up right here at your local community shop. ❤️

🎒 Back to School Snack Time! 🍎🥕🍌

The summer holidays have flown by! (I hope they've flown by for everyone! 😄)

If, like me, you're still getting your head around the kids going back to school, we can help with those lunchboxes and playtime snacks.

We've already got fruit, crisps, raisins and juice cartons, but what else would you like to see on our shelves when we open on Tuesday?

We'll do our best to get your favourites in, so all the wee ones (and the bigger kids too! 😉) can have a brilliant first day back at school on Wednesday.
