The school summer holidays are getting closer. And it's playtime in the woods, building dens, crafting, cooking on a campfire. We're excited to be offering our Nature Days Forest School session every Tuesday during the hols, starting on 28th July. Parents can drop off or stay and enjoy a bit of time out for themselves.

☀ An invitation to co-deliver a woodland based wellbeing programme celebrating our voice! ☀

In line with my current funding themes, we are looking for a group to benefit who fall under the category of ‘marginalised’. This could include older people, those living with physical disabilities (incl. chronic conditions), those with learning disabilities, those with mental health challenges, those in the LGBTQ+ community, individuals from diverse cultures, those who have lived experience of abuse, those from poor backgrounds etc etc.

The brief intro to the programme is:

“Our voices are integral to who we are, yet we can be afraid to use them. Through this 6-week programme we’ll explore that, softening our bodies, calming our nervous systems and allowing us to fully express ourselves. We will play with our voices, tuning into the sounds and textures around us and singing with each other and the trees. This programme is for you whether you love to sing or whether it’s in the shower only!”

As with all our delivery, we aim to be outside within a green space as much as possible (with poor weather contingencies). We will gather around a campfire, have hot drinks and snacks, and share time connecting to the natural world. Nature will be grounded in all the voice related activities. This is not about singing songs necessarily, as in a choir – no experience or talent in singing is required at all! You don’t need to be able to sing in tune! I understand this will sound like a very daunting option for people (it would be for me too!) but we are keen to offer a slightly different approach to arts in nature. We trialled this on a standalone session earlier this year, and despite the groups trepidations it was one of our best – full of fun, laughing, group cohesion, and individuals surprising themselves with how much they enjoyed it!

Ideally I am looking for one or two Partners to collaborate with, with you providing the cohort who have shared life experiences (as per my first paragraph).

This would be free to you and your service users.

It would run one session per week over a 6-week period (unless your cohort requires a more bespoke schedule, we can be flexible).

Venue could be: Carmarthen, Llanelli, Tumble, or Ammanford (or again, we can look at other site options if this suits you better).

We need to deliver this by mid February 2026.

We can look at transport costs if this is a barrier to your service users attending.

We can look at financial reimbursement to you / your staff if it enables you to support your service users to attend.

Please get in touch if you’d like to chat. This is a really exciting programme and I can’t wait to see it through!

Update on our current provision:
Outdoor learning and exploration for young people aged 5-15yrs, a no pressure Forest School type environment that allows young people to relax, feel accepted, find themselves, experiment, explore and regain lost confidences and self belief. They may be attending school but finding it hard/masking all day or currently unable to get to school at all http://www.bit.ly/THOreferral Monday & Thursday depending on age.

For those aged 16yrs - 99yrs we have a Forest College which again offers relaxing outside space to learn new skills (gardening, woodwork, crafting as examples) We are currently building our new shelter using traditional woodworking techniques and not a single person has previous experience - but they are enjoying having a go! Lunch, hot drinks and snacks provided so why not come and enjoy so fresh air and make new friends. Wednesday 11-2

Equine Assisted Learning for those who are really struggling to make changes and live their best life for whatever reason. Our specially trained equines provide non-judgemental feedback and inspire self reflection that help promote lasting change. http://www.bit.ly/THOreferral

Men2Men is a male only session where friendships can be made, experiences shared in a safe environment while having the opportunity to learn new skills or develop existing ones! Thursdays 10-3

Valley Makers are a group of volunteers who meet on a Wednesday and Sunday for various activities including practical skills, skill swaps, making/repairing things in The HangOut workshop. Learn to use handtools and power tools safely - no previous experious required. Make nature boxes, wooden toys, furniture, household items and repairs.
They like to Reclaim, Refurnish and Recycle wherever possible. All ages and skill levels welcome
