Greyhound Rescue Wales Greyhound Rescue Wales is the rescue and rehoming charity for greyhounds and lurchers in Wales.

Established in 1993, Greyhound Rescue Wales (GRW) is an all-Wales charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of ex racing greyhounds and lurchers. Our vision is a Wales without greyhound racing, where every greyhound and lurcher has a home and receives the best possible care. Our mission is to improve the lives of greyhounds and lurchers by:
- Rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers
- Supporting the movement to end greyhound racing in Wales
- Raising awareness of the issues facing greyhounds and lurchers
- Promoting greyhounds and lurchers as pets

Our flagship centre 'Hillcrest Rehoming Centre' in Ammanford is the base for our rescue and rehoming activities but we also have satellite centres and exciting collaborations with other reputable dog-focussed organisations across the UK. We also have six charity shops across Wales who raise important funds for our work and are trailblazers for the retail sector in their own right. We have a small staff team and a large volunteer base to support our important contribution to animal welfare in Wales. We also co-ordinate and administrate a networking space for adopters of greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds called Greyhound Rescue Wales Supporters. GRW is a charitable company limited by guarantee, company number 08411721, and was established in this new form on 2nd June 2013.

🐾💚 SPONSOR SATURDAY | PETPLAN INSURANCE💚🐾

This week, we’re giving a big shoutout to our wonderful partners at Petplan Insurance! 🐶✨

When one of our greyhounds finds their forever home, Petplan helps give them the best possible start by providing 4 weeks of free insurance from the day of adoption, once activated🏡💚

Adopting a dog is such an exciting time, but we know it can come with a few worries too! Having that extra peace of mind means our adopters can focus on what matters most: helping their new family member settle in, feel safe and enjoy their new life🐾

It also gives us reassurance knowing our precious greyhounds have that extra layer of support as they begin their next chapter💚

A huge thank you to Petplan for partnering with us and helping our hounds get the happy, secure futures they deserve. We’re so grateful to have you on our team! 💚🐕
