Have you heard of Care Opinion Scotland?

Care Opinion is a safe and simple way for people to share their experiences of health and social care services. Whether you're a patient, service user, carer or family member, your feedback can help services learn, improve and celebrate what's working well.

As part of Care Opinion Awareness Week, our team will be popping up at locations across Angus to talk about Care Opinion and the difference feedback can make:

Tuesday 9th June, Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre, Forfar, and Links Health Centre, Montrose
Thursday 11th June, Arbroath Infirmary, Main Reception

You'll also find Care Opinion displays at:
Arbroath Connections and Seaton Grove Care Home
Lochside Connections and Voluntary Action Angus, Forfar
Kirrie Connections, Kirriemuir

If you're passing by, please have a look at our displays and find out how sharing your story can help shape health and social care services across Angus.

To tell your story, please visit: https://www.careopinion.org.uk/

Caring for someone else can be rewarding, but it can also take a toll on your own mental health and wellbeing. Many unpaid carers spend so much time supporting others that they forget to prioritise themselves.

This Carers Week, we're reminding carers across Angus that support is available for you too.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stressed, isolated, or simply need someone to talk to, there are local services and resources that can help. Looking after your own wellbeing is an important part of being able to continue caring.

πŸ’™ πŸ’•It’s Carers Week 2026! πŸ’•πŸ’™

This week, we celebrate the incredible contribution of unpaid carers across Angus and the UK.

Carers provide essential support every day, often putting the needs of others before their own. At Angus Carers Centre, we’re here to ensure carers are recognised, valued and supported.

Join us throughout the week as we shine a spotlight on carers, share useful information and celebrate the amazing difference carers make in our communities.

πŸ’™ πŸ’•Thank you to every carer – this week is for you.

As part of Volunteers' Week, we were delighted to host our annual celebration event at Angus House last week. The event brings together volunteers and staff to recognise the invaluable contribution of our volunteers across the service.

The event provided and opportunity to celebrate and thank those who have reached important milestones in their volunteering journey. Certificates were presented to volunteers marking 1 year and 3 year milestones, alongside recognition of those achieving long service awards.

We were honoured that Tom Spink, Chair of NHS Tayside, joined us to present awards in person, making the occasion even more special for those being recognised.

Today is What Matters to You Day.πŸ‘‚πŸ—£οΈ

We're proud to share some of the work we've been doing across Angus to help put people, their voices and what matters most to them at the heart of health and social care.

Over time, we have been working with communities, staff, partners and Tommy Whitelaw, National Lead for Person Centred Voices at the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE), to promote kindness, compassion and meaningful conversations. Together, we've explored how a simple question can make a profound difference, what matters to you?

Through 65 events across 37 venues, we've connected with more than 850 people across Angus, listening to experiences, learning from one another and celebrating what makes Angus a great place to live and work.

These conversations have shown us that when we take the time to ask what matters to someone, we can deliver more person centred care and support.

Our film captures some of the stories, reflections and learning from this journey. More importantly, it highlights the power of listening and the difference that small conversations can make.

This What Matters to You Day, we invite you to watch, reflect and consider how you could help us to continue the conversation.
