😎 Join Angus Councilthis summer for fun-filled afternoons packed with arts and crafts, music, science, games and much more! Enjoy free activities and a snack at each session.

👉 Forfar – Wednesday 22 July, Steele Park

All sessions 2-4pm. No booking required.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. For the science activity please wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather.

We look forward to seeing you there for some summer fun! We will also be there for you to design the park how you can imagine it, ask us any questions etc

Today’s topic! Let’s talk about your desired theme!
Is it farmyard to go with our large farming community, is it forfar witches, is it the old train station, or the royalty’s???

What do you want our town to be known for with our playpark?
“Forfar.. that’s the one with the ‘farmyard playpark and the zip wire going shed to shed, and has the house pipe at the wash bay for cleaning shoes and buggy’s wheels after going round the loch etc… “

We just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has followed, liked and shared our page In The last 24hrs🥰 We have been blown away by the support already shown and it really proves how much we need updated facilities for families in Forfar.
It is very early days and we hope to engage with families over the next few months to gather ideas and find out what everyone's hopes are for the park. We have also been in contact with local schools to ensure the children have their say. Please reach out to us if you have any ideas you want to share or if you want to become a volunteer for the group. Feel free to let us know about your favourite parks and share photos of play equipment that your kids love to use!
Our initial focus is on the play park but like all of you, we have big dreams and would love to go bigger and better for Forfar. The hope is to extend the project into other areas such as skate park, pump track and youth area if we are successful.

We’re not asking for volunteers. We’re simply asking for a follow.

The Forfar Loch Community Park Project group has now been established, and one of the biggest things we need right now is visible community support.

When applying for funding, it’s not enough to simply have a good idea. Funders want to see evidence that local people are behind the project and want to see change happen.

The good news is that supporting the project couldn’t be easier. You don’t need to join the committee (albeit we are open), attend meetings or give up your spare time. Simply following the page, liking posts, sharing updates and taking part in consultations helps demonstrate community support when funding applications are assessed.

At present, Angus Council has committed funding to replace three pieces of play equipment. With successful funding applications and strong community backing, there is an opportunity to deliver something much bigger for Forfar’s children, families and future generations.

Forfar Online has over 22,000 followers. Imagine the message it would send to funding organisations if even a small percentage of those people followed the project and showed their support.

Every follow helps strengthen our case. Every share helps raise awareness. Every comment helps demonstrate that the community cares about improving this space.

If you want more for Forfar, please follow the page and help us show funders that our community is ready to back this project.
