Remembrance 2026

29/09/2026

Squirrels nationally are celebrating their 5th birthday this month and West Moors, 4yrs this week. We went to see the red squirrels who we are named after and learned about how Scouting began on Brownsea Island. The Squirrels also looked for signs of autumn and were very excited when a peacock joined their picnic.

West Moors Squirrels went on a big adventure over the sea this weekend. Can you guess where we went?

🎉 Family Quiz Night 🎉

What a fantastic evening we had at our Family Quiz Night on Saturday!

Families came together for an evening full of fun, laughter, and a little friendly competition. Teams put their knowledge to the test across a variety of rounds, including riddles, cereal varieties, children's characters, and much more.

It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, working together, and enjoying the challenge. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success. We hope you all had as much fun as we did, and we look forward to seeing you at our next Scout Group event!

Congratulations to our winning teams! 🏆👏

Did you know it's Volunteer week?
Many thanks to West Moors Town Council who invited Steve and I to a special lunch recognising local volunteers.
We represented our team of 30 volunteers who run exciting sessions for local young people 4-14yrs or are part of our Trustee Board. THANK YOU ALL

On Monday 6th July, starting at 6.30pm we will be holding our Annual Review meeting. This is an opportunity to hear about the fun and experiences which our Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels have got up to over the past year and to hear from our Trustee Board about their role in ensuring we keep our hall in good order with funds to run our programme. If you have an interest in Scouting, you are very welcome to join us.

🐝Last night, we celebrated World Bee Day! 🐝

Our brilliant Beaver Scouts created some wonderful bee hotels to help support our buzzing little friends. 🌼💛

Bees are so important for pollinating plants and helping nature thrive, so it’s fantastic to see our Beavers learning about wildlife and doing their bit for the environment. 🌍✨

We’re incredibly proud of their creativity, teamwork, and care for nature — and we’re sure the bees will love their new homes! 🐝🏡
