📣 We're thrilled to announce our first official education partnership! 📣

We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with the fantastic team and pupils at Vale School to launch our new education mission.

I had an amazing time this week presenting the incredible history of the Sarah Townsend Porritt to the Year 5 and 6 classes. Their enthusiasm was incredible!

This is the official first step of our "Sarah's Water Safety School" program and our core charitable goal of using Sarah's story as a 'living classroom' for heritage and STEM.

A huge thank you to Kelly, Tamsin, and all the pupils for being such a brilliant founding partner. We can't wait for the next steps!

Hello Ponsanooth! 👋

Just a quick and friendly reminder from the Saving Our Sarah team!

If you've got any used printer ink cartridges lying around at home or in the office, please don't bin them! You can give them a second life and help our project at the same time.

There's a dedicated collection box inside the Ponsanooth Village Store where you can drop them off.

Every single cartridge we collect is sent for recycling, and we receive a small donation in return. It might not seem like much, but it all adds up and goes directly towards the restoration of our historic lifeboat, the Sarah Townsend Porritt.

It's a super easy way to support our heritage project, help the environment, and de-clutter your drawers all at once!

A huge thank you to the team at the village store for hosting the box for us, and to everyone who has donated so far. Your support is hugely appreciated! 🙏

Mike Read Appointed Patron of Saving Our Sarah CIC

Falmouth, Cornwall — 12 August 2025 — Saving Our Sarah CIC is honoured to announce that Mr. Mike Read, esteemed broadcaster, author, and television presenter, has accepted the role of Patron for the community interest company. This appointment represents a significant milestone in the campaign to restore the Sarah Townsend Porritt, a distinguished Watson-class RNLI lifeboat dating from the 1950s.

Mr. Read has a longstanding commitment to preserving cultural and historical heritage, having been involved in numerous projects celebrating British history and music. His enthusiasm for safeguarding important stories and artefacts makes him a natural advocate for Saving Our Sarah CIC’s mission to restore and preserve this unique piece of maritime heritage.

The Sarah Townsend Porritt served with distinction, saving over 40 lives during her operational career. As she approaches her 75th anniversary, the project is focused on securing a permanent and suitable restoration space to safeguard this important vessel for future generations.

Mr. Read’s association with Saving Our Sarah CIC will considerably enhance the company’s efforts to raise awareness, galvanise community support, and attract partners committed to preserving maritime heritage.

Commenting on his patronage, Mr. Read stated:

“I am privileged to lend my support to Saving Our Sarah. Preserving vessels such as the Sarah Townsend Porritt is vital to honouring the legacy and sacrifices of those who served our coastal communities.”
