We are a South West-based social enterprise that encourages people of all ages to discover the incredible marine life found around our beautiful coast.

Halfway there! Three weeks into our Crowdfunder and you've helped us raise £4,791 so far. 🌟

Behind every donation is someone who cares about their local shore, from volunteers and families to wildlife lovers across the UK. Thank you for being part of this community.

There are still three weeks to go, and each donation up to £250 is doubled by the Aviva Match Fund. Donors can also claim rewards, including private rock pool safaris and rainbow sea slug t-shirts.

Introducing our Menai Bridge hub!

A small rocky shore under the Menai Bridge with an adjacent sandy bank and mud flat means there is lots to explore at this unique site.

“The mix of habitats allows for an incredibly rich biodiversity, from sponges to algae, worms to crustaceans, octopuses and squid,” says hub leader Nathan. "We have also found over 60 species of sea slug."

And if that wasn't enough, the volunteers are often joined by a cat whilst they go rock pooling!

This October, we're bringing people together across the UK to record wildlife on their local shores - and help us to raise funds for the future of The Rock Pool Project.

Our BioBlitz events are, and always will be, free. But this month, as part of Crowdfunder October, we're asking anyone who can to donate and help us keep doing this work.

Last month they headed to the shore for two rock pooling events, recording 286 observations for The Big Rock Pool Challenge!

We’re taking part in iNat Together!

From September 18–28, iNaturalist.org is hosting iNat Together, a global effort to get people outside and looking at their local nature together. You don't need to know anything about nature to participate! iNat Together is all about getting to know your nearby plants and animals just a little better than you did before. And you don't have to go far - right where you are is great, even in the middle of a big city.

An unexpected find at our Community BioBlitz Festival. 🌈

This rainbow sea slug was spotted in the rock pools at Porthpean by our volunteer Luke, and is likely the first record for the area.

Babakina anadoni is a species usually found in warm Atlantic waters off the coast of Spain, Portugal and France, that has been appearing along UK shores in increasing numbers. A stunning find, and a reminder of just how much is changing on our shores.
