This page is dedicated to the organisation 'Stand Up for Nature' (SUN) founded by Hannah and Jamie, this organisation hopes to give a voice to wildlife. This December Hannah and Jamie, two students from the University of Exeter will be actively tackling the issues associated with Wildlife Crime and the illegal ivory trade in Malawi. The film ‘Stop Wildlife Crime, Protect Malawi’s Wildlife’ was pro
duced by Jamie, last Christmas and it describes the issues facing Malawi regarding the illegal ivory trade, it was very successful and was shown on National television as well as being viewed by the country’s president but it wasn’t seen by the people who really needed to see it, those in the poorest communities surrounding the National parks who don’t have access to television and so students Hannah and Jamie have decided to take the film one step further...
They will be constructing their very own bicycle powered projector system and organising a tour around Malawi that will take the film to those remote locations that really need to see it. Alongside this they will be running outreach programmes, aimed at educating and inspiring children about their own country's wildlife as well as advising the elders as to the benefits that wildlife can bring in terms of tourism. The aim of this project is to inspire the younger generation and so funding will also be put towards taking as many children as possible to the National Parks to see their own country’s wildlife for the very first time. The entire tour and the events that the team host will be captured in a film that will be shown to a global audience in an effort to publicize to other nations what fantastic work Malawi is able to carry out. We need everyone to join us in this battle, please donate what you can, the more money the project gets, the more people it will be able to reach.
