🥔👩‍🌾 ALLOTMENT EXPERIENCES 👨‍🌾 🥕

Last week our children returned to the nursery allotment beds after a long six weeks off. Lots of weeds had settled over our tatties but the children were up to the task of clearing them💪

As the weeds came up, a child found a very large potato! 🥔 followed by another.... and another... until everyone was lifting potatoes and suddenly we had a trailer full! 🤩

Not to forget the carrots in the trough 🥕 some were long and straight, others had split and grown many legs 😂. The children were very proud of their harvest, especially those that were with us last term who planted the potatoes and sowed the carrot seeds.

What's next for our harvest?
"We could make soup!"
"We can chop them up in the mud kitchen."
"I want to make chips!"
"Can I take some home?"

Well done everyone! We're looking forward to cooking with our veg next🧑‍🍳

We had the BEST time at Wynford Farm for our end of term trip last week!
🐴 🐖 🐓 🦜 🐢 🐰 🐹

Eating our packed lunches and snacks; exploring the outdoor play area; climbing on tractors and playing together in the sand; feeding animals and the indoor soft play and of course the bus journey, accompanied by singing (and some napping on the way home🥰 - parents and children🫢). It was SUCH a great day

Do you have a two year old, or a child approaching two? Or a three or four year old? We believe they'd have the best experience coming to join us.
