FRIENDSHIP with SERVICE truly reflects a typical Inner Wheel Member. If you are not a member, why not join us? http://www.innerwheel.co.uk/

The Inner Wheel Club of Ellon meets the third Monday of the month, usually 7pm at the Station Hotel, Ellon. The objectives of Inner Wheel are :

To promote true friendship
To encourage the ideals of personal service
To foster international understanding

Clubs meet regularly and have a full and varied programme through which friendships are built and maintained. Visiting other clubs and joining in their activities broadens the opportunity to make new friends. Inner Wheel clubs have an outstanding record of service to the community. Initially members provided goods, quite often homemade, to the poor of their communities. The ethos spread rapidly through the country and then abroad. Inner Wheel has adapted to the needs of the country as society has changed. Some members still knit and clubs collect tons of useful goods for the needy but much is now sent abroad. In this country, members support refuge centres for abused women, hostels for the dispossessed, child centres and drop-in centres, school breakfast clubs and much more. All this is carried out in the spirit of friendship. International Inner Wheel was formed in 1967 and the clubs have since spread to 103 countries with a 100,000 members worldwide, 17,000 of those of those being in Great Britain and Ireland.

A surprise presentation yesterday at the District Meeting. Ellon Inner Wheel Club was judged to be the Club of the Year. Jean, Kate and Heather were honoured to accept the cup on behalf of the Club. The contribution of all members makes a difference and our club a winner 🏆. Thank you everyone. 🌟🌟

Just a reminder for all club members that we are resuming evening meetings on Monday 16 March, 6.45 for 7 pm at the Station Hotel. Our meeting on Monday will include a frugal meal and proceeds will go to Mary’s Meals. Looking forward to seeing everyone then.

Inner Wheel Day
#
For the last few years the Inner Wheel Club of Ellon has celebrated Inner Wheel Day by creating a collage of flowers in Inner Wheel colours. This year unfortunately our little community is blanketed by thick snow and several of our members haven’t ventured out since New Year let alone gone looking for flowers, so this time we had to do some lateral thinking. Several suggestions were made, from incorporating household items in IW colours to random flowers or photos of Members wearing IW colours against the snowy backdrop. So here is the result. What it lacks in classical beauty it more than makes up for by demonstrating the resilience and ingenuity of Ellon Inner Wheel.
