On call firefighter Chloe McAndie from Ellon Community Fire Station is running the London Marathon in memory of her friend Rosie and to raise funds for the Anthony Nolan charity.

Rosie received stem cell treatment after being matched with a donor through Anthony Nolan's stem cell register.

Chloe said: “Thanks to this charity we were able to spend more years making memories with my wonderful friend Rosie.

“Rosie was never able to meet her donor, but she was so grateful and all her family and friends are forever grateful for the extra time we had with her because of them.

“Running for this cause is my way of saying thank you. If I’m able to raise some money for the charity that's brilliant but more importantly if someone reading this or sees anything I've shared joins the stem cell register, then that's even better.”

🔥 ELLON FIRE STATION NEEDS YOU TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY TO KEEP IT SAFE!!

Ellon fire station is in real need of people to become on-call Firefighters who are able to respond during the day and night from home or work.

If you have a interest or would like more information on what it is like to be an on-call firefighter please message our page!

Are you aged 18 or over?
Work or live in Ellon?
Have a good level of physical fitness?
Do you want to learn new skills, broaden your horizons and protect your community?

We are recruiting On Call Firefighters from all different backgrounds. Age isn't a barrier - as long as you can pass the national tests.

All our Firefighters carry a pager and respond to a range of emergency incidents and engage with local communities alongside there main employment.

🚒🎅 THANK YOU! The Santa collection for 2025 came to an end on Friday night. All at the station would like to say a massive thank you to everyone in Ellon, Pitmedden, Newburgh, Balmedie, Foveran, Tipperty and anyone else who has donated this year!

Every year we try our best to get around as many places and streets as we can but unfortunately we can't do them all. If you didn't get a chance to see Santa but would still like to donate our just giving page is still open. Link is below.

🎅🚒 Santa Machine's last night! - Friday 19th 🚒🎅

Tonight we will be around the streets of Meiklemill and Hillhead areas.

Reminder we won't be knocking on doors, so please come out to see Santa!
