Newington Trinity Church

Newington Trinity Church Church of Scotland. Mayfield Road/Dalkeith Road. For most of the year Sunday worship at 9:30am and 10:45am. See newingtontrinity.org So where are you?

In July and August we have a single service at 10:30am. Newington Trinity is part of the Church of Scotland standing in the Reformed Tradition. But we are glad to share with people of other traditions and, whoever you are, you would receive a warm welcome. Come and join us! We have two sites; one on Mayfield Road, which is our principal place of worship, and also on Dalkeith Road, just a few metre

s down from the Commonwealth Pool and Pollock Halls of Residence. We are always seeking ways in which we can serve the community around us. There’s lots to do and we can always use extra people to help us. At the moment we have two services on Sunday mornings, a more family oriented one at 9:30am and one in a traditional style at 10:45am. On the first Sunday of each month, we have one service at 10:30am. Registered Scottish Charity: SC000785

This morning we had the joy of having Rev Dr MaryAnn Rennie lead our worship. At our congregational meeting afterwards there was an overwhelming vote in favour of asking MaryAnn to be our parish minister. MaryAnn has agreed to accept the call subject to Presbytery approval.
Praise the Lord! as we look forward to the next stage in our congregation's life together.

The Presbytery of Edinburgh and West Lothian have posted details of the forthcoming visit to the Port of Leith by 'Logos Hope.'

"We’re delighted that 'Logos Hope,' the world’s largest floating bookship, will be visiting Edinburgh in July as part of Operation Mobilisation's UK’s Waves of Hope tour.
"This inspiring visit is a chance to experience life onboard, explore the ship, and hear stories from the international crew—offering encouragement and fresh vision for the Church across the UK.
Churches are warmly encouraged to share this opportunity with their congregations and consider planning a group visit."

The visit of Logos Hope – with her crew and her stories – is to be used as a catalyst for all that God is already doing through His people in the UK. The vision for Logos Hope’s UK tour is to create a sense of encouragement and renewal of the UK Church's response to God's call to make Him known here and around the world. Together, we’re raising a tide of faith and releasing waves of hope across our nation and beyond.

So, if you have an hour or two to spare why not pop down to Leith and go aboard. We're sure that you'll not regret it!

Today was our Meadows Moonshot for Christian Aid.
In the picture Cap'n at Ground Control is taking a photo of some of the crew before they blast off on circuits. It could be a valuable momento, you never know, will they ever return?
