Since 1973 we have offered educational courses, workshops and therapies for spiritual, emotional and physical well-being. The inter-connectedness of body, mind and spirit, as symbolised in the Celtic Trine, is the foundation of our work and we believe that healings and growth arise naturally from this recognition.

Exciting news - at The Salisbury Centre, we are now starting a transition to a new booking system!

This will be a big improvement both for our room hirers and staff, as it will make the booking process way more straightforward.

For one thing, we'll have a public availability calendar you'll be able to see before making a booking request! 🙌

While we are working on that, we also want to give you a heads-up that through the month of October (and possibly slightly beyond), the day-to-day office will be running on limited capacity. This is so we can focus on the transition and do it as smoothly as possible.

More info coming soon, but for now, we are asking for your patience, as it may take us a bit longer to get back to you than usual.

If you have an urgent question or last-minute booking request, please call the office within office hours (Wednesday-Friday, 10:00 - 14:00).

Very excited for our autumn equinox celebration happening this Sunday!

There will be space for a simple fire ritual in which we can symbolically place into the flames something that no longer serves us, making room for whatever wants to emerge next.

We’ll also lean into the more inward, receptive, and traditionally feminine qualities of this part of the cycle: listening, gathering, tending, nourishing, reflecting and allowing things to mature in their own time.

You’re very welcome to bring something to offer to the fire: an instrument, a song, a poem, a story, a reading, or simply your presence. You don’t need to perform or contribute anything at all. You can come, listen, warm yourself by the fire, and be part of the circle.

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm (Fire lit at 7pm)

This event is by donation, and nobody will be turned away for financial reasons. However, any donations you can make support the Salisbury Centre and its charitable aims and are greatly appreciated.

We are super excited to announce one of our volunteers, Christopher is hosting a fireside celebration of the Autumn Equinox this Sunday, the 27th September, 6:30pm - 8:30pm!

The Autumn Equinox is a moment of balance: day and night standing almost equally together before the darkness gradually begins to take more of the year. Across generations and cultures, this turning of the seasons has been marked with stories, rituals, songs, and gatherings around the fire.

This evening is an invitation to slow down, gather, and reflect on what this season has brought us.

Around the fire, there’s an invitation to explore the idea of harvest. The literal harvest of offerings from the Earth, and what we have grown, created, learned, survived, and brought into being in our own lives.

🍎 What are the fruits of this year so far?

🌾 What deserves to be gathered, celebrated, savoured?

🔥 And what are we ready to let go of as we enter the next part of the cycle?

Time: Sunday 27th September,
18:30-20:30 (Fire lit at 19:00)

We've been asked to share this notice to the Salisbury Centre community:

The funeral for Lyndon Shams Antle will be held on Friday 18 September at 12.30 pm at the Borders Crematorium, Melrose TD6 9HA, and gathering afterwards at the Kingsknowes Hotel, Selkirk Road, Galashiels TD1 3HY

Lyndon was a trustee of the Salisbury Centre and closely involved for many years and will be remembered fondly by many associated with the Centre over the years. Most importantly if it wasn't for his tireless work for nine months in 2012 and 2013, working as a an administrator, the building would have been sold off and the story of our beloved Centre would have been very different.

We offer our sincerest condolences to his friends and family.

The Wellspring Room is perfect for meditation, therapy, massage and small meetings.

The Salisbury Centre offers a twice daily drop in mediation - at 8:00am and at 5:30pm.

It's so great to see the the scaffolding down and to see the results of the last few months of building works!

These much needed repairs to our East Chimney and the gutters and downpipes of the front facade will help us keep this grand old building going strong. As well, the centre will be better protected against storms, heavy rain and water ingress!

Many thanks to our community for their patience during these months, and a massive thanks to our generous funders, Suez Communities Fund - Scotland, FCC Communities Fund, and Historic Environment Scotland.

Finally we would like to thank our architects, EALA Impacts for managing this project, and our building contractors Griggs and Sons for their great work!

Recently, Jenn and Jonny held their wedding at the Salisbury Centre. It's so wonderful to see the Studio and Garden full of people celebrating a wonderful day!
