Big news for your calendar! 🗓️ Save these new dates for two of our favourite times of year.

📚 Book Week Scotland is moving to the summer! 🌞 Join us 14–20 June 2027 for a week-long celebration of books, reading and the stories that bring us together – with hundreds of events at libraries and community venues across Scotland. It’s a new time of year, but the same week-long book party vibe.

📝 And calling everyone with a story to share: Scotland's Stories will return soon! Watch this space for info on how your story could appear in our free Scotland's Stories book, distributed during Book Week Scotland.

🏫 Reading Schools Week is also returning! Mark the school diary for 16–20 November 2026. Open to every school in Scotland, it's five days of games, challenges and pure reading joy, not to mention book gifting with the Bookbug P1 Family Bag and Read Write Count P2 and P3 bags.

It’s the perfect way to start your journey to becoming a Reading School or to celebrate being one...

📚 Every secondary school pupil in Scotland deserves access to a school library but right now, there's no legal requirement for schools to provide them.

We need to change this story and you can help to make that happen. Write to your MSP today and tell them that school libraries shouldn't be a luxury. They should be an essential part of learning and daily school life in Scotland.
