🌱 A huge thank you to the team at Fowlis Wester Village Hall for raising an incredible £4,898.31 for Blood Cancer UK through their annual Charity Plant Sale!

The plant sale is the result of months of hard work, with plants grown and prepared throughout the year before the sale. We’re so grateful to everyone involved for choosing to support Blood Cancer UK and helping to make such a difference.

If you’re part of a group, club or community in Scotland and are thinking about fundraising, there are so many ways you can get involved. A plant sale, afternoon tea, quiz night or something completely different can all make a real difference.

We’re always happy to chat about your ideas and see how we can support you. Every pound raised helps fund vital blood cancer research and support people affected by blood cancer.

We're so grateful to supporter Amy Louise for sharing her story at this year's My Peak Challenge Gala.

Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia as a child, Amy spoke so powerfully about her experience before treating guests to a surprise performance that made the evening even more special. These photos capture just a few moments with Amy and her family, whose continued support means so much to our community.

We're incredibly grateful for the continued support of My Peak Challenge and everyone who makes it possible. Together, we're funding vital research and helping to ensure people affected by blood cancer have the support and information they need.

Because of supporters like Amy, her family and the My Peak Challenge community, we're one step closer to beating blood cancer. 💜

Join the Glasgow and District Branch on Sunday 6th September for the yearly Walk to Beat Blood Cancer!

The walk begins right next to the beautiful Burrell Collection, through picturesque Pollok Country Park, along the White Cart Water and past the grand Pollok House. Make sure to keep an eye out for the Highland coos along the way! 🐄

What an incredible achievement! 🎉

A huge congratulations and thank you to Team Relics in Relics, who have completed their epic road trip challenge from Ross on Wye to Northern Ireland in a convoy of five cars worth less than £650 each. Inspired by the classic Top Gear challenges, the team took on the adventure to raise money for Blood Cancer UK after Pete’s recent diagnosis.

Together they have raised an amazing £6,421, with donations still coming in ❤️

It has been fantastic to see the support they've received every step of the way. From the warm send off to the encouragement, donations and kindness from communities they met throughout the journey, you've all helped make this challenge so special.

Thank you to Team Relics in Relics and to everyone who donated, cheered them on, and helped make this challenge such a success. Because of you, we're one step closer to beating blood cancer 👏

A huge thank you to the student nurses at Ulster University Magee campus who are supporting Blood Cancer UK this week 💜

The annual plant sale is a wonderful tradition, with plants carefully grown and prepared throughout the year before being sold at the event. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the wider Fowlis Wester Village Hall group, and the generosity of everyone who came along to support the sale, this year's event raised a fantastic amount for blood cancer research and support.

On Sunday, Mairead had the privilege of meeting some of the friends and family behind Team Rachel in Dunfermline to thank them for the incredible difference they've made through this year's Walk of Light.

Rachel was diagnosed with AML and sadly died in April 2025, just a few weeks later. She is deeply missed by her family and friends, who wanted to find a way to come together, remember Rachel, and share stories about her.

That's why they chose to take part in Walk of Light.

Earlier this year, 12 of Rachel's family and friends walked across the Forth Road Bridge in her memory. Together, they've raised an incredible £12,842.23, including Gift Aid and matched funding.

On Sunday it was clear just how much Rachel meant to everyone. Her friends and family spoke about wanting to keep her memory alive and to raise awareness of AML, so that more people understand the impact blood cancer can have.

We're so grateful to Team Rachel for choosing to support Blood Cancer UK in Rachel's memory. Every pound raised will help fund research, provide information and support, and bring us closer to beating blood cancer.
