Would you like to assist in some health research on the mental and physical health benefits of cycling? (Link here - see below.)
We've been contacted by a medical student who writes: "I am currently undertaking research on the long-term benefits different forms of travel can have. For cycling we aim to expand our view on how it can impact us later in life with a focus on cognitive reserve i.e it strengthens your brain over time, making it more resilient against future mental health threats (e.g. dementia). I was wondering if my survey could be advertised in the Cycling UK Facebook group. I've included the link to the survey so you can have a look. Our friends at Eastbourne Bicycle Club 1877 found this reminder from the archives about the importance of bike lights! Our friends over at Eastbourne Bicycle Club 1877 (who also run the lovely annual penny farthing hill race at Beachy Head) have reminded us that 2027 will mark 150 years since the first bicycle club was started in Eastbourne. Lots of exciting plans in the works to mark this milestone next year! THERE is an OBE today for a wonderful Eastbourne resident.

It's Professor Scarlett Armorel McNally.

She is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the DGH, and Deputy Director, Centre for Perioperative Care.
