🚨 URGENT – transport help needed 🙏

Little Leo became very unwell and was admitted to the vets yesterday. He’s had surgery and, due to a slow recovery, needs to remain in overnight.

I urgently need someone travelling from Burgess Hill to Eastbourne tomorrow who could collect the boys on my behalf and bring them back to the sanctuary.

My husband is working and I’m really stuck with timings 🙈

I will absolutely cover fuel costs.

If you can help at all, please message me as soon as possible – I’d be incredibly grateful 💛

We love seeing people connect with animals, but we’re concerned about how rabbits and other animals are handled in some farm parks. Frequent handling in loud, busy settings can be very stressful for them 🐰

We support The Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund's call to end 'pat-a-pet' sessions. A kinder approach is letting visitors enjoy animals from a respectful distance, whilst learning about what makes them unique and fascinating.

If you agree, or would like to learn more, you can sign the pat-a-pet-pledge here: https://bit.ly/48dVqGt

🐰 🐰 Lyric & Penny – Looking for Their Forever Home 🏡

Meet this adorable pair — Lyric (3 years old) and Penny (around 1 year old) 💕
Both are neutered and vaccinated, and ready to hop into a loving home together.

Penny has had a traumatic past and will need a calm, understanding environment. She can live with older, sensible children who will give her the patience and kindness she deserves. Despite her past, she’s a gentle girl slowly learning to trust again. 💗

Before coming into rescue, Penny lived with guinea pigs who were sadly killed by rats, so she’ll need a secure, predator-proof home for her safety and peace of mind.

Lyric is her calm and loving companion — confident, curious, and always close by to reassure her. Together, they make a beautifully bonded duo.

🌿 Best suited to a shed-style set-up with a safe run, where they can explore and enjoy life together.

If you can offer Lyric and Penny the forever home they’ve been waiting for, please get in touch today. 💌

💔 Red & Roo – Our Continental Giants 💔
Arrived: 04/10/24
🐰 Red – White Continental Giant
🐰 Roo – Sable Continental Giant

When Red and Roo arrived, both were in a heartbreaking state — underweight, matted, covered in urine burns, and suffering from a severe mite infection that had clearly been building over many months of neglect.

After weeks of gentle care, rest, and lots of snuggles, these two started to blossom. Their coats began to heal, their spirits lifted, and it was beautiful to see them finally enjoying comfort and kindness. 🌿

They truly adored one another — always side by side, snuggled up, finding peace in each other’s company.

Then, devastatingly, three days ago our beautiful Roo crossed over the rainbow bridge. 🌈💔
Despite all the love and warmth surrounding her, her little body had simply endured too much before coming to us. We take comfort in knowing she left this world safe, loved, and finally free from pain.

Red continues his recovery journey here with us, and we will make sure he feels that same love every single day.

Run free, our gentle Roo. You’ll always be part of our hearts and our sanctuary family. 💖

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us — your kindness makes moments like these a little more bearable, and helps us keep going for those still needing care.

🍁 Good Morning Everybun 🐾

The mornings are getting colder, the air crisp, and the seasons are quietly changing around us 🍂 — a gentle reminder that everything moves in cycles… even rescue.

Closing the rehoming side of the rescue was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make. It broke our hearts, but it was a choice made for the mental health and wellbeing of everyone involved — both human and animal. Our sanctuary residents need us now more than ever; their ongoing medical care, daily routines, vet trips, and comfort take time, energy, and love that can’t be split too thin. It’s an exhausting and emotional commitment, but it’s one we hold dear. 💚

We will always, always be here for every animal that has passed through our care. Rescue back-up for life isn’t just a phrase — it’s a promise. 🐰🐹

But sometimes, healthy bunnies or piggies return to us through no fault of their own. When that happens, we owe it to them to help them find new forever homes, rather than keep them here taking up sanctuary space meant for those who truly can’t be rehomed. Every animal deserves the chance to be loved and cherished. 💞

We’re still here offering nail clips, grooming, and advice, and most of all, we’re still here with open hearts.

Right now, we have a few beautiful pairs and groups hoping for a second chance — waiting for someone kind to see them, to care, and to welcome them home. If you’ve done your research and have space in your heart and home, please get in touch. Sometimes love looks like giving a little soul their happily ever after. 🌈

We see you, we thank you, and we couldn’t do this without you. 💚 fans

🐰 Macaroni, Mia & Isabella – Trio Looking for a Forever Home 🏡💛

Meet this beautiful bonded trio — Macaroni, Mia and Isabella — who are ready to hop into their happily ever after together!

✨ Macaroni (cream & white Dwarf Lop, born August 2023) came into rescue after his previous owner developed allergies. He’s a gentle, curious boy who loves company.
✨ Mia (brown Lionhead, born June 2021) is the proud mum of Isabella (brown mixed breed, born January 2022). Both came to us as part of the Brighton 23 rescue and have been inseparable ever since.

They’re a well-bonded, calm and affectionate group who adore each other’s company — and we’re hoping to find them a loving home where they can stay together. 💞

🏠 They’re looking for a shed-type setup or similar safe outdoor space with plenty of room to hop, explore and relax.

If you’ve got space in your home and heart for this lovely family, please get in touch — they truly deserve their forever home. 💫

Good morning Everybun 🐇💛

A couple of months ago, we had to make one of the hardest decisions of our lives – to close the rescue & rehoming side of Eastbourne Rabbit & Guinea Pig (now a sanctuary).

We didn’t choose this lightly. The number of animals coming through our doors was becoming unmanageable – and with each new arrival, we found ourselves stretched thinner and thinner. The more we took in, the more time it stole from those already in our care. The weight on my heart, my family, and our amazing volunteers became too heavy.

There were the endless vet visits to different practices… the mounting bills… the heartbreak of each story we heard… the battles we had to fight to keep these animals safe. And then, the moments that broke us most – seeing people give up on these gentle souls simply because they, or their children, had grown “bored.”

That was when we knew – for the sake of the animals and ourselves – something had to change.

Rabbits and guinea pigs will always be part of our lives and our home. That’s why we started – to love, protect, and care for those who need us most.

Since closing the rehoming side, we’ve noticed some people have drifted away. Support has lessened. But the truth is – we are still here, and so are they. The bills are still huge. The rabbits still need constant care, medication, enrichment, and regular vet trips. We still take in those who are too poorly or fragile to be rehomed. They are safe here, but that safety depends on you – our community.

We still need your kindness.
We still need your shares, your donations, your food and hay, your engagement.
We still need you standing beside us, because these little lives still matter – every single day.

We are still here, loving them as fiercely as ever. And we hope, with all our hearts, that you are still here with us too. 💛 fans
