Imaginative and playful are good words to describe Wednesday evening's topics (impromptu speaking) session, led by Andrea. Themed around "what happened next?" for various fairy tale characters, participants had to work out what to say, for instance, on behalf of Jack (of Jack and the beanstalk) who had become a successful entrepreneur, or Goldilocks, who had been banned from Airbnbs because of her reputation for stealing things. All great fun.

Why not join the other guests who frequently come along, and see a club night for yourself? Meetings are on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7.15pm at The Lansdowne Hotel, Eastbourne and wrap up at 9.45pm. Guests are welcome without charge or obligation. See you there!

How often have you thought: "If I could have another go at that, I'd do it better next time"? And that can really matter when delivering a presentation for work.

And that's exactly the opportunity that Eastbourne Speakers Club offers: To have a go, make mistakes, and learn from them - so that when it really matters, your presentation is the best that it can be.

On Wednesday evening, Tom rehearsed a networking pitch with accompanying PowerPoint slides, whilst Maja delivered part of a bigger presentation that she will be making to sell her services, later this year. Both received feedback to help them improve.

Of course, there was also the regular impromptu speaking session, so that nobody left without having had a chance to speak and receive feedback.

Another great night, full of fun and learning.

Caught. Convicted. And only having two minutes to speak, off the cuff, about the circumstances in which the specific offence that we were told we'd committed had occurred. That was Wednesday's topics (impromptu speaking) session - packed with fun and laughter. Everyone had a go, including our guests - although, it has to be said that one wasn't willing to face up to his wrongdoing. He continued to adopt the Shaggy defence: It wasn't me! A great session led by Tom, with expert feedback delivered by Susan.

To join the fun, why not come along? Meetings are on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7.15pm at The Lansdowne Hotel, Eastbourne and wrap up at 9.45pm. Guests are welcome without charge or obligation.
