💚 A heartfelt thank you and farewell 🌿💚

We want to share that two of our long-standing Board members, including our Chair who co-founded OASES, will be stepping down from their roles at OASES.

It’s hard to put into words how much we appreciate everything they’ve given to the organisation. Their time, energy, guidance, and unwavering belief in our mission have helped shape OASES into what it is today. 🌍✨

From supporting our team behind the scenes to championing environmental education and sustainability in schools and communities, their impact has been truly felt across everything we do.

We are so grateful for their leadership, kindness, and commitment, and we will really miss working with them both.

Please join us in saying a huge thank you and wishing them all the very best for whatever comes next. 💚

🌳🌱 Schools Taking Action for Nature! 🌱🌳

It’s been fantastic to see schools getting involved in the Trees for Communities project - funded by Durham County Council - by planting trees and creating greener spaces for the future.

Pupils have been learning about the importance of trees for wildlife, biodiversity, and climate change while helping to improve their local environment. From digging and planting the young trees, students have played an important role in making a positive difference. 💚

These new trees will help create healthier, greener communities for years to come — and inspire the next generation to care for the planet. 🌍✨

🎉🌍 Happy 100th Birthday to David Attenborough! 🌍🎉

For decades, Sir David Attenborough has inspired generations to connect with and protect the natural world. Through his documentaries and campaigning, he has helped people understand the importance of biodiversity, sustainability, and taking action to care for our planet. 🌿💚

At OASES, we share this same mission — encouraging communities and young people to engage with nature, protect local environments, and create a more sustainable future for everyone.

Thank you, Sir David, for continuing to be such a powerful voice for our planet and an inspiration to so many around the world. 🌎✨

Big news worth celebrating 🌱

A major milestone has just been reached—the first climate-friendly school outside of the North East is here!

It’s inspiring to see progress like this spreading beyond one region—proof that positive change doesn’t stay in one place, it grows.

Here’s to more schools, more communities, and more steps toward a cleaner, brighter future 💚

We’re proud to celebrate a huge milestone! 🌍🎉

The first climate-friendly school outside of the North East is leading the way in sustainability, inspiring young people to care for the planet through real action and hands-on learning.

Herringthorpe Junior School are reducing waste, utilising their outdoor spaces, and empowering their students to make greener choices. This school is showing what’s possible when communities come together for a better future. 🌱💚

A brilliant step forward for climate education and environmental leadership!

Don't just take our word for it, hear from the school themselves below 🗨️
