Shepherdswell Preschool is a committee run preschool that first opened in 1972 and occupies premises in the village hall. We are a term time only setting.

There are 2 rooms filled with stimulating resources and a large safe garden.

Term 1 Week 7.

👻Happy Halloween 👻

This week all the children have had a blast getting into the Halloween spirit, we've been so busy.
🎃We've done so many Crafts, including pumpkin sun catchers, Broomsticks, pipette paintings, finger paintings and so much more.
🎃 The children have enjoyed dressing up in our collection of Halloween costumes. They done some fantastic acting and getting into character.
🎃 Pumpkins- we have has miniature and medium pumpkins and one huge Pumpkin at preschool. We've used them to create towers, compare sizes and roll. On the large pumpkin we used golf tees and hammered them into it. Later in the week we cut it up and harvested all the seeds.
🎃 Potions Class - the children all transformed into witches and wizards and made some fantastic and spooky looking potions.

Term 1 week 6

This week we have explored all things Autumn. We've painted on leaves as our canvas, made potions and wands and created our very own autumnal coloured leaves using handprints.
We have also made an autumn treasure market stall. The children have loved this. 🍂🍁

Next week we will be enjoying all things Halloween ready for our Halloween Disco on Friday 23rd 5-7pm.
We can't wait to see you there👻🎃

Term 1 Week 4&5
Over the last couple of weeks we have been super busy!

We have done lots of painting, with brushes, conkers, sponges and our hands. We've especially loved using autumnal colours.
Thank you to all who have already returned their treasure bags.
The children have been investigating the sunflower heads we grew last year. We have used them in play and we've had a squirrel visit to have some for his breakfast 🐿

Gloop has been a hit with the children this week too, it's so interesting to watch.

As it was harvest, we have also had some fresh vegetables to cut and explore the different smells and textures. 🥕🧅🥒

Term 1 Week 3

We've enjoyed getting creative with loose parts this week. The children have made different faces, sculptures and creations from the most random items. Amazing!

We've tried to have as much water play as possible until the colder months arrive. We made the water into a deep ocean for our sea creatures to enjoy 🐳🦭🐟

Following our theme we have continued to explore our feelings and emotions with the colour monster. We've explored how different things might make us feel and what each emotion might look like.

Term 1 Week 2

Following the children's interests this week, we have done lots of investigating and exploring how things work.
We made a huge colour wheel to explore colour theory with mixing paints in tuff spot. Watching the new colours appear felt like magic!
Planting and working with soil is always a favourite and this week was no different. We planted bulbs and succulents to watch grow in the coming term.

To further our theme of 'All about me' we explored our feelings with the help of the Colour Monster. This tied in so well with our colour exploration too. Lots of the children also helped decorate our display board heading. We did each letter in a different arts and craft materials. It looks fab, well done!

Finally we also enjoyed plenty of play with fresh flowers. We admired the vibrant colours and played with them in many different ways.

Term 1 Week 1.
WELCOME BACK EVERYONE!
We hope you all had a fantastic summer break. We have heard all about the children's adventures this week, its been great catching up. It looks like everyone had a fun holiday☀️ Everyone has settled back into the Preschool routine really well. We are excited to start our theme of the term ' All About Me'. We look forward to welcoming all our new children in the coming weeks too. Have a great weekend all, The Red Ladies ❤

Term 6 Week 8
This week has been full of lots of fun but also some goodbyes to our older children.

We are so proud of every single one of you leaving us this year and we cannot wait to hear of all your future successes. ❤

We would like to say a massive thank you to all the families who have brought in gifts and treats for us, it's much appreciated.

We hope you all have a lovely summer full of fun and we will see our returning children on September 7th 😊

Term 2 week 6 & 7 ☀️

The older children have even enjoying their last weeks at preschool and having lots of summer fun. They are so excited to share all about their big school and settling sessions.
One week to go and they'll be off on that next adventure😊

All of the children have enjoyed plenty of water play with different additions to make it colourful and interesting. We've used petals, paint, toys, glitter and much more!
