Term 5 week 5

Firstly, we would like to say a massive thank you to the parents who built us our very own mud kitchen. This was so generous and kind. The children love it, it's such a fantastic resource for us. ❀

By Monday morning all our ducklings had hatched and had started to grow. The children have loved caring for them, watching them grow ( they grew so much!), cuddling them and even teach them to swim.
We were sad to see them go.

Have a great week off everyone and we will see you in term 6.

We have DUCKLINGS!! πŸ¦†πŸ’›

On Tuesday this week some duckling eggs arrived at preschool. The children attentively watched the cage and incubator get set up and we patiently waited too see some cracks.
By Thursday morning the first duckling arrived. Everyone was very excited!

By Friday afternoon 4 have hatched and the last egg is on its way to hatching and joining his brothers and sisters.

The duckling have been very noisy and active. The children are helping to teach them to drink and stroke them.
Next week we will help them to learn to swim!!

Term 5 week 3

It's been a busy week at preschool this week.
We've been doing plenty of planting of seeds and beans. We can't wait to see them grow. With the help of the story ' Jasper's Beanstalk' we've learnt about how growing plants takes time and care. πŸ’§πŸŒΏ
Our seed snails have grown nicely and the children loved looking at the roots. They were very impressed.

We've also had fun with magnets this week. We scattered them across the floor and had races to see who could pick up the most.

Have a great weekend,

Term 5 Week 1&2

We have loved welcoming back the children after our long Easter Break. Its been great to hear all about the adventures they've been on. We also raised lots of money for Preschool at our Easter Fayre. Thank you for all your support.

This term we are focusing on nature, growing and life cycles. So far we've planted lots in our veg pod. The children love being hands on and involved.

A book we've focused on is ' Jack and the Beanstalk'. The children have retold the story using small world toys, performances and crafts. 🌿

Have a great weekend.

Ps - we have also had a case of head lice reported at the setting. Please be advised to check over your children and treat accordingly.
Thank you

Term 4 Week 4 and 5.

Over the last couple of weeks at preschool we have all been busy getting stuck into Easter activities and crafts. We have enjoyed potato printing to make eggs and decorating Easter pictures with loose parts.
Everyone has also been busy getting ready for the Easter Fayre!

We have loved exploring all the uses of the sensory blocks too. We used them to make tall towers and experiment with them in the sunshine. What lovely colours they made!

We look forward to seeing you all at the Easter Fayre, have a great half term.

Term 4 Week 3

This week at preschool we have focused on lots of maths and the children have enjoyed getting stuck in. Everyone has learnt new skills and gained confidence. πŸ‘
We've ran around in the garden to find different numbers and had a go a reading a dice to lead our actions. Best of all we played many games of 'What's the time Mr Wolf?'
Inside, we worked on naming different shapes and sorting bears into their homes to work on 1-10.
Well done everyone!

In preparation for Mother's Day, each child has worked hard to make some treats for their mummies. It's been so lovely to hear why they love their mums and what they do that makes them laugh. ☺❀
We have made a tree display to shows these reasons in the porch. We have also made a lovely Mother's Day display on our board to show off our fabulous flower splat paintings.

Have a great weekend all ( especially the mums πŸ˜€)
