Finding it hard to put into words what we did on Saturday!!!

50km in under 10 hours 😮

Cannot thank you all enough for your support and messages throughout the day, it meant so much.

We have raised over £2,700 for Jo ❤️

But the biggest thank you goes to Sam aka Bruv/Skippy Sam Inskip couldn’t have done it without you. You never doubted me once, even towards the end when I was starting to flag, your positivity and encouragement kept me going ☺️

What shall we do next year?!?

Anyone local to Dover? Dover smART Project run a weekly support group to anyone living with or been through cancer, family members or loved ones are welcome too. See post below for more details ☺️❤️

We are relaunching our Cancer Support Club!

It will be every Thursday from 9am - 1pm and will run as a drop in session to offer support, information and a chance to socialise with those in a similar situation or just to take part in a creative activity to switch off from the world.

🥾 50km. One brother-in-law. One big challenge. 🥾

Inspired by Sam’s 100km ultra earlier this year, I’ve decided to take on 50km myself, walking with Sam to raise funds for Preloved Reloved- Cancer & Beyond.

I’ve been running the charity single-handedly for a few years now, gaining charitable status in 2024. We rely solely on donations, fundraising and grants to operate, and the support has been unbelievable, I’m so very grateful to everyone who has helped.

To continue the work we do, there are monthly running costs that have to be met, with one of the main ones being the rental of the unit where we work from and store all of the donations.

Every penny raised helps us support those going through a cancer diagnosis, by providing wigs, turbans, headscarves, mastectomy pillows, Scalp cooling support packs and many other essential items, completely free of charge, sending out all across the UK. No one should have to face cancer alone, and your support helps make sure they don’t.

Any amount you can spare, big or small, makes a real difference, and means the world to us. Thank you ❤️

Do you have a PICC line? Do you have it covered? Maybe you just use a plain tubular bandage? Fancy something more colourful to jazz up your arm?! Then look no further…..

The wonderful charity run by a group of volunteers, hand make the covers, and sends them to me 😊

If you would like any, you’ll need to measure around your arm in cm so we can send you the correct size. If I don’t have your size, then you can request some from PICCpals direct.

We also encourage you to send them back to me once you’ve finished with them (if in excellent condition still) and we can wash and pass them onto someone else in need 😊

Have you been told by your clinical team to stop using the cold cap because you are loosing your hair and it’s no longer working? If you have, this is the WRONG information to be given!

The cold cap is all about protecting your hair follicles, not about saving your hair! You may manage to keep or save alot of your hair during treatment, and if you do then fabulous. With certain chemotherapy’s you can shred and even loose the majority of your hair. If you do then you MUST continue to cold cap for the remainder of your chemotherapy.

Protect your follicles 🙏🏻

I understand that cold capping isn’t for everyone and that’s ok, but we all need to be given the correct information so we can make informed choices.

Unfortunately I wasn’t given that correct information and have PCIA ,Persistent Chemotherapy Induced Alopecia.

WE’RE A FINALIST

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Preloved Reloved- Cancer & Beyond has been named a finalist in the Kent Charity Awards 2026 in the Care Charity of the Year category.

When I started this charity, all I wanted to do was make sure that no one had to face cancer alone or struggle to afford essential items, and to know that my work has been recognised in this way means the world to me 😊

Tomorrow we have two judges coming to visit and see first hand where the magic happens. We then have the nail-biting wait until the awards night on 3rd September to find out if we’ve won!

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, supported, and cheered us on from the very beginning, this is for every single one of you.
