The Schools White Paper, setting out proposals for SEND reform, has been published today.

Our legal team is carefully analysing the proposals. We’ll share our assessment of how they will affect children's right to provision that meets their needs, and we will post updates here as soon as we can.

We understand this is an unsettling time for families. The most important things to know right now are:

🔸The publication of the Schools White Paper does not immediately change the law.
🔹The SEND legal framework remains unchanged, and all existing legal duties continue to apply in full.
🔸The proposals set out in the White Paper are subject to consultation. We will share further information and guidance on the consultation shortly.

We’ve also created a dedicated webpage on the Schools White Paper, which we will be updating regularly: https://www.ipsea.org.uk/Pages/Category/schools-white-paper-what-you-need-to-know
