In 2017 South Dorset became an additional zone in the UK governments continued asssault on one of our most cherished and protected species, Badgers. Since the cull began in South Dorset our group of dedicated, informed and passionate local individuals have raised awareness, engaged in public outreach, lobbied politicians locally and nationally and campaigned for this futile and scientifically invalid widespread decimation of a species to end. We are very active in the field; sett surveying year-round, monitoring illegal disturbance and blocking of setts, recording biosecurity breaches around TB-infected farms and patrolling for wounded badgers during the cull. We are always looking for assistance so if you want to help your local badgers in South Dorset we would love to hear from you :-)
