Broadmayne & West Knighton Events Committee

18/07/2026

We just wanted to share some wonderful news from our friends over at D-Day Dorset.

"Last month's Armour & Embarkation event marked the 10th anniversary of our event being based in the village of Broadmayne.

From our base camp in the village, we were able to hold events in Weymouth, Bovington, Dorchester, and Martinstown, as well as visit schools in both Broadmayne and Dorchester.

We are immensely grateful to the communities of Broadmayne and West Knighton for your continued support. Without it, we would not be able to achieve our aims of commemoration and education.

As a token of our appreciation, we are delighted to make a donation to the Broadmayne & West Knighton Events Committee, and doubling up their donations to the West Knighton Village Playpark, Broadmayne Playing Field & Broadmayne First School.

On behalf of the organisers of Armour & Embarkation and the wider A&E team, thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and ongoing support."

The weather is looking great this weekend. If anyone wants to stay over then we recommend Chalk Meadow Campsite https://www.chalkmeadowcamping.co.uk/ Just a short walk from the village center.

We love welcoming guests to Chalk Meadow, our small and relaxed camping spot in the heart of Dorset. With just 25 tent-only grass pitches, there’s plenty of space to spread out, slow down and enjoy the open meadow setting. From your pitch, you can take in wide countryside views, listen to birdsong...
