Radipole Lake DDAS members litter pick and other pre-season work (graft) completed today by that ‘fine’ bunch of volunteers. Thank you isn’t enough, but Thank you!

Still hopeful that the W**D (not reeds!!!) & Algae removal boat will be with us within a few days 🤞.
We did all we could with the TEAM we had today so please don’t criticise if your preferred peg/swim isn’t YET fishable.
Rome wasn’t built in a day or 2 😉.
PS: None of the litter was Angler related.

This Saturday gone was the final work party session on the River Stour at Shillingstone prior to the ‘glorious 16th’.
Ten DDAS members kindly offered their services and time to clear more swims for your comfort & safety.
THANK YOU guys, you know who you are (except Gav 😜) & it is much appreciated 👏🏼👏🏼🙏.
Enjoy, but remember it is voluntary work, and helps keep your membership subs to a minimum!! Respect!!!

Radipole Update:
Yesterday, we received a draft 'Licence to Fish' from Dorset Council (DC), it had to be returned with details that were incorrect. We almost immediately received a revised version (I nearly fell off my seatbox!) that should permit us to open on Tuesday 16th June as planned (day 1 of river season). Our first draft submitted to DC was sent on 2nd April.

Anyway, in anticipation of Tuesday, we will be carrying out a DDAS members Litter Pick on Monday 15th. You ALL are welcome to come along and lend a hand if you like? We will meet at 9am-9.15am in the cafe car park (free) along Radipole Park Drive (not the tennis courts or public one by the RSPB hut). We ‘may’ be able to remove some of the floating Algae at the same time (prior to the repaired W**d Removal Boat rescheduled for next week). No need to confirm thanks, we'll just see you there.

Fishery Friday:
Great day at Revels on Trendals lake assisting the Masons Angling Charity who take disabled kids fishing for a day locally.
A few DDAS members offer their time to give these kids a great day out on the bank twice a year. Big thanks to them & thank you Jason for allowing exclusive use of the lake for the event 🙏👏🏼.

Pre season (& pre licence 🤔) repairs, signage installation & closing off unsafe platforms at Radipole Lake today.

The start of what could be a challenging season… but with your support, assistance and understanding… we should get there eventually!

Well then… after weeks of busting a gut with the kind assistance of the RSPB & Natural England (the lake has a SSSI) to get the weed/algae removal boat arranged for 2 days this week at Radipole Lake…. it has broken down 😢.

Therefore, it can now only be done
sometime after the start of the opening day (16th).
Once a date is arranged, we will let you know (may be a weekend).
We can only apologise for this delay but it is out of our control.
There will still be fishable areas, as long as our licence with DC has been signed by them (first submitted on 12th April)
