💚 £1,792 raised for Women’s Work 💚

Thanks to our wonderful community and the Co-op Local Community Fund, we’ve received an incredible £1,792 to support the women who access our services!

We’ve decided to put this generous donation towards materials for our craft group, helping us continue to create a space where women can connect, get creative and enjoy some time for themselves 🎨

Because crafting is about so much more than what we make. It’s the conversations, the friendships, the confidence built along the way and the positive impact these moments can have on emotional wellbeing.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who chose to support Women’s Work through the Co-op Local Community Fund. Your kindness really does make a difference! 💚

That’s why our Life Skills Programme is about so much more than learning new skills. It’s about creating opportunities for women to recognise their potential and feel empowered to make positive changes in their lives.

🎄 A little kindness can make a big difference this Christmas 🎄

This Christmas, we're putting together special gift bags for the women we support at Women's Work, and we'd love your help to make them extra special!

We're asking our wonderful community, local businesses and organisations to come together and donate a few everyday essentials and little luxuries to help spread some festive joy!

We're looking for donations of:

🧴 New toiletries – shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste and moisturisers
💄 Makeup, lip balms and pamper treats
🪮 Hairbrushes, combs and hair products
🧣 Winter hats, scarves and umbrellas

For many of the women we support, these gifts are more than just practical essentials. They're a reminder that someone is thinking of them, that they matter, and that they're not alone.

A wonderful opportunity to share the work we do, the women we support, and the difference that support can make 💜

Our CEO, Dionne Reid, recently joined Rotary Amber Valley, alongside her colleague Sinder Gill, to talk about the work of Women’s Work and the importance of empowering women across Derbyshire.

From improving mental wellbeing and building confidence to helping women overcome barriers and create brighter futures, Dionne shared how our services are making a difference to women and their families.

We were also delighted to receive a generous donation from Rotary Amber Valley, presented by President Chris, which will help us continue providing vital support to women who need it most.

A huge thank you to Rotary Amber Valley for the warm welcome, for giving us the opportunity to share our mission, and for your kindness and generosity 💜

We are thrilled to have some extra helping hands around the office this week with some young people from across Derby.

They are doing a fantastic job of giving The Convent a little spruce up around the garden and helping us package food parcels for vulnerable women in the community.

We’re on the look out for our next financial guru to supprt our current Finance Manager. If you are a highly-organised and motivated finance professional, we would love to hear from you!

💰£14.00 - £15.09 per hour (equivalent to £13,104 - £14,217.84 per annum) depending on experience

Requirements:
- ATT Level 3 (or equivalent)
- 3 years experience in a finance-related role
- Strong administrative skills
- Excellent IT skills, including Excel and accounting software
- Analytical, detail-oriented & able to manage work load
